Abstract

According to one embodiment, a touch detection device includes first detection electrodes in a detection area, second detection electrodes in the detection area, extending to intersect the first detection electrodes, first control lines connected to the first detection electrodes, respectively, and provided in a non-detection area, and second control lines connected to the second detection electrodes, respectively, and provided in the non-detection area. The second control lines overlap the first control lines at a plurality of positions as seen in plan view, such that areas of overlapping portions in which the first control lines overlap the second control lines are substantially equalized.

Claims (9)

1. A display device comprising: a first substrate comprising a first area including a plurality of pixels and a plurality of detection electrodes, a second area including a plurality of coupling portions disposed between a circuit and a plurality of first lines, which include at least a first part and a second part, the first part extending in parallel to an alignment direction of the plurality of coupling portions and the second part extending perpendicular to the alignment direction, a plurality of second lines connecting the plurality of coupling portions to the detection electrodes, and an insulating layer provided between the plurality of the first lines and the plurality of the second line wherein the second lines intersect the first lines at an angle other than 90 degrees as seen in a plan view.

2. The display device of claim 1 , wherein one group of the second lines extend from the coupling portions in a first direction inclined with respect to the first lines, and the other group of the second lines extend from the coupling portions in a second direction opposite to the first direction and inclined with respect to the first lines.

3. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein each of the second lines is connected to the detection electrode through a switch which is arranged between the coupling portions and the plurality of first lines.

4. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein each of the second lines is bent in a stepwise manner.

5. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein each of the first lines is formed in a wavelike shape.

6. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein each of the second lines is formed in a continuous wavelike shape, a continuous sine wave shape, a continuous saw tooth shape, or a continuous zig zag shape.

7. A display device comprising: a display panel comprising a first substrate, the first substrate comprising a display area including a plurality of pixels and a non-display area; and a touch detection device provided in the display panel, wherein the touch detection device comprises: a plurality of first detection electrodes overlapping the display area; a plurality of second detection electrodes overlapping the display area and extending so as to intersect the first detection electrodes; an insulating layer provided between the first detection electrodes and the second detection electrodes; a plurality of first control lines connected to the first detection electrodes, respectively, and provided in the non-display area; and a plurality of second control lines connected to the second detection electrodes, respectively, and provided in the non-display area, and the first control lines are connected to the first detection electrodes, and each of the second control lines is formed in a continuous wavelike shape, a continuous sine wave shape, a continuous saw tooth shape, or a continuous zig zag shape.

8. The display device according to claim 7 , wherein the second control lines are provided so as to overlap the first control lines at a plurality of positions as seen in plan view.

9. The display device according to claim 7 , wherein a line width of each of the first control lines is less than a width of each of the first detection electrodes and a line width of each of the second control lines.
