GOLF SWING TRAINING APPARATUS
A golf swing training apparatus has a shaft, a housing with a top cap and a bottom cap, and a plurality of weighted discs receivable within the housing. A golfer may adjust the weight of the head of the club by adding or removing weighted discs in the housing. The golf swing training apparatus may comprise an accelerometer within the housing so as to measure the speed, acceleration, and swing path that the club takes for feedback and analysis to improve the golfer's swing.
1 . A golf swing training apparatus configured to couple to a golf club, the golf swing training apparatus comprising:
a housing coupleable to a club shaft, the housing comprising:
a battery,
a printed circuit board,
an accelerometer, and
a wireless transceiver;
wherein the wireless transceiver is configured to send data from the accelerometer to a user's smartphone.
2 . The golf swing training apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the housing further comprises a microcontroller configured to process data from the accelerometer and transmit the processed data, via the wireless transceiver, to the user's smartphone.
3 . The golf swing training apparatus of claim 2 , wherein the processed data includes one or more of swing speed, acceleration, club head alignment, and club head path during a full swing.
4 . The golf swing training apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the housing is coupled to the club shaft via a strap.
5 . A golf swing training apparatus configured to couple to a golf club, the golf swing training apparatus comprising:
a housing coupleable to a club shaft, the housing comprising:
a battery,
a printed circuit board,
an accelerometer, and
a wireless transceiver;
wherein the wireless transceiver is configured to send data from the accelerometer to a user's smartphone; and
wherein the user's smartphone is configured to process the received data and display to the user one or more of:
swing speed,
acceleration,
club head alignment, and
club head path during a full swing.
