Abstract

A method, software, database and system for attribute partner identification and social network based attribute analysis are presented in which attribute profiles associated with individuals can be compared and potential partners identified. Connections can be formed within social networks based on analysis of genetic and non-genetic data. Degrees of attribute separation (genetic and non-genetic) can be utilized to analyze relationships and to identify individuals who might benefit from being connected.

Claims (52)

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

comparing genomic nucleotide sequences within genetic information of a non-human organism with genomic nucleotide sequences within genetic information of a population of non-human organisms, wherein the comparing determines respective degrees of overlap between the genomic nucleotide sequences of the non-human organism and the genomic nucleotide sequences of the population of non-human organisms;

calculating, based on the degrees of overlap, a subset of non-human organisms from the population of non-human organisms with degrees of overlap that are greater than a threshold value;

transmitting, to a client device, a representation of a graphical user interface that identifies the subset of non-human organisms as genetic relatives;

receiving, from the client device, a request to compare genomic nucleotide sequences between the non-human organism and at least one non-human organism within the subset of non-human organisms identified as genetic relatives;

generating a comparison of genomic nucleotide sequences within the genetic information of the non-human organism with genomic nucleotide sequences within the genetic information of the at least one non-human organism; and

transmitting, to the client device, a further representation of a further graphical user interface that presents the comparison of genomic nucleotide sequences within the genetic information of the non-human organism with genomic nucleotide sequences within the genetic information of the at least one non-human organism.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

ranking the subset of non-human organisms identified as genetic relatives according to their degrees of overlap, wherein the graphical user interface provides the rankings.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

ranking the subset of non-human organisms identified as genetic relatives according to genomic nucleotide segments shared between the non-human organism and one or more of the non-human organisms within the subset of non-human organisms identified as genetic relatives, wherein the graphical user interface provides the rankings.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

filtering the subset of non-human organisms identified as genetic relatives based on non-genetic information of the subset of non-human organisms identified.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, from the client device, a request to display a familial lineage between the non-human organism and one or more members of the subset of non-human organisms;

generating the display of the familial lineage; and

transmitting, to the client device, a further representation of a further graphical user interface that presents the familial lineage.

6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

generating a display of a familial lineage between the non-human organism and one or more members of the subset of non-human organisms; and

transmitting, to the client device, a further representation of a further graphical user interface that presents the familial lineage.

7. A computer-implemented method comprising:

comparing genomic nucleotide sequences within genetic information of a non-human organism with genomic nucleotide sequences within genetic information of a population of non-human organisms, wherein the comparing determines respective degrees of genetic similarity between the non-human organism and one or more members of the population of non-human organism;

calculating, based on the degrees of genetic similarity, a subset of non-human organisms from the population of non-human organisms with degrees of genetic similarity that are greater than a threshold value;

transmitting, to a client device, a representation of a graphical user interface that presents the subset of non-human organisms as genetic relatives;

receiving, from the client device, a request to compare genomic nucleotide sequences between the non-human organism and at least one non-human organism within the subset of non-human organisms identified as genetic relatives;

generating a comparison of genomic nucleotide sequences within the genetic information of the non-human organism with genomic nucleotide sequences within the genetic information of the at least one non-human organism; and

transmitting, to the client device, a further representation of a further graphical user interface that presents the comparison of genomic nucleotide sequences within the genetic information of the non-human organism with genomic nucleotide sequences within the genetic information of the at least one non-human organism.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 7 , further comprising:

ranking the subset of non-human organisms identified as genetic relatives based the degrees of genetic similarity.

9. The computer-implemented method of claim 7 , further comprising:

filtering the subset of non-human organisms identified as genetic relatives based on non-genetic attributes of the subset of non-human organisms identified as genetic relatives.

10. The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the filtering is based on one or more attributes associated with ancestral information of the subset of non-human organisms identified as genetic relatives.

11. The computer-implemented method of claim 7 , further comprising:

receiving, from the client device, a request to display a familial lineage between the non-human organism and the one or more members of the subset of non-human organisms;

generating the display of the familial lineage; and

transmitting, to the client device, a further representation of a further graphical user interface that presents the familial lineage.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 7 , further comprising:

generating a display of familial lineage between the non-human organism and the one or more members of the subset of non-human organisms; and

transmitting, to the client device, a further representation of a further graphical user interface that presents the familial lineage.

13. A computer-implemented method comprising:

comparing genomic nucleotide sequences within genetic information of a non-human organism with genomic nucleotide sequences within genetic information of a population of non-human organisms, wherein the comparing identifies segments of overlapping genetic attributes between the non-human organism and one or more members of the population of non-human organisms;

determining a subset of non-human organisms from the population of non-human organisms in which the segments of overlapping genetic attributes are indicative of a familial lineage;

transmitting, to a client device, a representation of a graphical user interface that presents the subset of non-human organisms and the familial lineage;

identifying sets of overlapping non-genetic attributes between the non-human organism and one or more further members of the population of non-human organisms;

determining a further subset of non-human organisms from the population of non-human organisms in which the sets of overlapping non-genetic attributes are indicative of a further familial lineage; and

transmitting, to the client device, a further representation of a further graphical user interface that presents the further subset of non-human organisms and the further familial lineage.

14. The computer-implemented method of claim 13 , wherein the familial lineage provides ancestral information regarding the subset of non-human organisms.

15. The computer-implemented method of claim 13 , further comprising:

calculating, based on the segments of overlapping genetic attributes, a measure of the family lineage, wherein the representation of the graphical user interface provides the measure of the family lineage.
