Distributed Actor-Based Information System and Method
A computer-implemented method, computer program product and computing system for monitoring an environment to detect the existence of an unfulfilled need; identifying one or more needed skills that can collaboratively address the unfulfilled need, thus defining one or more needed skills; and comparing the one or more needed skills to one or more available skills offered by one or more distributed actors to identify one or more missing skills required to address the unfulfilled need.
1 . A computer-implemented method, executed on a computing device, comprising:
monitoring an environment to detect the existence of an unfulfilled need;
identifying one or more needed skills that can collaboratively address the unfulfilled need, thus defining one or more needed skills; and
comparing the one or more needed skills to one or more available skills offered by one or more distributed actors to identify one or more missing skills required to address the unfulfilled need.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:
defining the one or more available skills offered by one or more distributed actors.
3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 2 wherein defining the one or more available skills offered by one or more distributed actors includes:
reviewing exposed skill information about the one or more distributed actors.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein monitoring an environment to detect the existence of an unfulfilled need includes:
detecting the existence of a request.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 4 wherein detecting the existence of a request includes one or more of:
receiving a request from a human distributed actor; and
receiving a request from a non-human distributed actor.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the one or more distributed actors include one or more of:
a software platform;
a software application;
a virtual machine; and
a web-based service.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:
generating one or more new skills to address the one or more missing skills required to address the unfulfilled need.
8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 7 further comprising:
notifying one or more distributed actors who previously could have utilized the one or more new skills of the current availability of the one or more new skills.
9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 7 wherein the one or more new skills include one or more machine-generated skills.
10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 7 wherein the one or more new skills include one or more human-generated skills.
11 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:
addressing at least a first portion of the unfulfilled need with the one or more new skills.
12 . The computer-implemented method of claim 11 further comprising:
addressing at least a second portion of the unfulfilled need with one or more of the available skills offered by one or more distributed actors.
13 . The computer-implemented method of claim 11 wherein addressing at least a first portion of the unfulfilled need with the one or more new skills includes:
generating at least a first response portion with the one or more new skills.
14 . The computer-implemented method of claim 13 further comprising:
forming a bespoke response to the unfulfilled need based, at least in part, upon the at least a first response portion from the one or more new skills.
15 . The computer-implemented method of claim 14 further comprising:
providing the bespoke response to a party associated with the unfulfilled need.
16 . The computer-implemented method of claim 14 further comprising:
effectuating, in whole or in part, the bespoke response.
17 . A computer program product residing on a computer readable medium having a plurality of instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
monitoring an environment to detect the existence of an unfulfilled need;
identifying one or more needed skills that can collaboratively address the unfulfilled need, thus defining one or more needed skills; and
comparing the one or more needed skills to one or more available skills offered by one or more distributed actors to identify one or more missing skills required to address the unfulfilled need.
18 . The computer program product of claim 17 further comprising:
defining the one or more available skills offered by one or more distributed actors.
19 . The computer program product of claim 18 wherein defining the one or more available skills offered by one or more distributed actors includes:
reviewing exposed skill information about the one or more distributed actors.
20 . The computer program product of claim 17 wherein monitoring an environment to detect the existence of an unfulfilled need includes:
detecting the existence of a request.
21 . The computer program product of claim 20 wherein detecting the existence of a request includes one or more of:
receiving a request from a human distributed actor; and
receiving a request from a non-human distributed actor.
22 . The computer program product of claim 17 wherein the one or more distributed actors include one or more of:
a software platform;
a software application;
a virtual machine; and
a web-based service.
23 . The computer program product of claim 17 further comprising:
generating one or more new skills to address the one or more missing skills required to address the unfulfilled need.
24 . The computer program product of claim 23 further comprising:
notifying one or more distributed actors who previously could have utilized the one or more new skills of the current availability of the one or more new skills.
25 . The computer program product of claim 23 wherein the one or more new skills include one or more machine-generated skills.
26 . The computer program product of claim 23 wherein the one or more new skills include one or more human-generated skills.
27 . The computer program product of claim 17 further comprising:
addressing at least a first portion of the unfulfilled need with the one or more new skills.
28 . The computer program product of claim 27 further comprising:
addressing at least a second portion of the unfulfilled need with one or more of the available skills offered by one or more distributed actors.
29 . The computer program product of claim 27 wherein addressing at least a first portion of the unfulfilled need with the one or more new skills includes:
generating at least a first response portion with the one or more new skills.
30 . The computer program product of claim 29 further comprising:
forming a bespoke response to the unfulfilled need based, at least in part, upon the at least a first response portion from the one or more new skills.
31 . The computer program product of claim 30 further comprising:
providing the bespoke response to a party associated with the unfulfilled need.
32 . The computer program product of claim 30 further comprising:
effectuating, in whole or in part, the bespoke response.
33 . A computing system including a processor and memory configured to perform operations comprising:
monitoring an environment to detect the existence of an unfulfilled need;
identifying one or more needed skills that can collaboratively address the unfulfilled need, thus defining one or more needed skills; and
comparing the one or more needed skills to one or more available skills offered by one or more distributed actors to identify one or more missing skills required to address the unfulfilled need.
34 . The computing system of claim 33 further comprising:
defining the one or more available skills offered by one or more distributed actors.
35 . The computing system of claim 34 wherein defining the one or more available skills offered by one or more distributed actors includes:
reviewing exposed skill information about the one or more distributed actors.
36 . The computing system of claim 33 wherein monitoring an environment to detect the existence of an unfulfilled need includes:
detecting the existence of a request.
37 . The computing system of claim 36 wherein detecting the existence of a request includes one or more of:
receiving a request from a human distributed actor; and
receiving a request from a non-human distributed actor.
38 . The computing system of claim 33 wherein the one or more distributed actors include one or more of:
a software platform;
a software application;

a web-based service.
39 . The computing system of claim 33 further comprising:
generating one or more new skills to address the one or more missing skills required to address the unfulfilled need.
