Abstract

A system for assembling roofing at ground level has an adjustable-length center frame separating a first assembly side from a second assembly side; a first cantilevered gantry on the first assembly side and a second cantilevered gantry on a second side, each cantilevered gantry moveable along the length of the center frame; a plurality of outrigger beams coupled to opposing ends of the center beam, each outrigger beam having a catwalk thereon; a first joist railing and a second joist railing on each assembly side, each joist railing configured to receive an end of an open web joist; and a base frame comprising a plurality of wheels. Once the roofing section has been assembled, hoisting the assembled roofing section to the top of a structure.

Claims (26)

1 . A system for assembling sheathing, comprising:

a center frame;

a first outrigger beam extending perpendicular to the center frame; and

a second outrigger beam extending perpendicular to the center frame in the same direction as the first outrigger beam;

wherein the first and second outrigger beams are configured to support a plurality of joists therebetween.

2 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a cantilevered gantry extending perpendicular to the center frame and movable along the center frame.

3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the cantilevered gantry is movable along an upper beam and lower beam of the center frame.

4 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the cantilevered gantry is configured for placement of materials thereon.

5 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the cantilevered gantry is manually movable.

6 . The system of claim 2 , wherein the cantilevered gantry is movable via a motor.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first outrigger beam comprises a first catwalk and the second outrigger beam comprises a second catwalk.

8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first outrigger beam comprises a first plurality of joist receiving brackets and the second outrigger beam comprises a second plurality of joist receiving brackets.

9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first and second outrigger beams are removably couplable to the center frame.

10 . A system for assembling sheathing, comprising:

a center frame;

a first joist railing extending perpendicular to a first end of the center frame; and

a second joist railing extending perpendicular to a second end of the center frame;

wherein the first joist railing and the second joist railing are configured to support a plurality of joists therebetween.

11 . The system of claim 10 , further comprising a cantilevered gantry movable along the center frame.

12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the cantilevered gantry is movable along an upper beam and lower beam of the center frame.

13 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the cantilevered gantry is configured for placement of materials thereon.

14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the cantilevered gantry is manually movable.

15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the cantilevered gantry is movable via a motor.

16 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the first joist railing is coupled to a first outrigger beam and the second joist railing is coupled to a second outrigger beam.

17 . The system of claim 16 , wherein the first outrigger beam comprises a first catwalk and the second outrigger beam comprises a second catwalk.

18 . The system of claim 10 , wherein the first joist railing comprises a first plurality of joist receiving brackets and the second joist railing comprises a second plurality of joist receiving brackets.
