Mobile device streaming media application
A system and process for coordinating streaming content or messages is provided. A network-connected server maintains a database containing media content-related data, such as the text of a message, accompanying media, time of airing, payment and related comments. A user can view these feeds or streams of these consciousness messages by downloading a mobile application or browsing to a website. The application can also be used to create, schedule and pay for a media content message.
1 . A method, comprising:
receiving, at one or more servers, a plurality of video messages from one or more mobile applications executable on a corresponding one or more mobile devices;
storing the plurality of video messages on the one or more servers, wherein one or more stored video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers are associated with expiration information to determine when the one or more stored video messages can no longer be included in a feed;
selecting, for inclusion in a feed, a subset of video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers, wherein selecting the subset of video messages for inclusion in the feed is based on the expiration information;
providing the feed from the one or more servers to a first mobile application executable on a first mobile device, the first mobile application configured to present the feed;
transmitting, from the one or more servers to the first mobile application, an indication that a second mobile application executable on a second mobile device has initiated a live stream of a live video message generated via the second mobile application; and
in response to a request from the first mobile application to receive the live stream of the live video message, live streaming the live video message from the second mobile application to the first mobile application via the one or more servers, the first mobile application configured to present the live stream of the live video message.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the video messages stored on the one or more servers includes text.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the video messages stored on the one or more servers includes an attached image or attached audio.
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the live video message includes text.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the live video message includes an attached image or attached audio.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the feed is a first feed and the subset of video messages is a first subset of video messages, the method further comprising:
selecting, for inclusion in a second feed, a second subset of video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers, wherein selecting the second subset of video messages for inclusion in the second feed is based on the expiration information, the second feed differing from the first feed; and
providing the second feed from the one or more servers to the first mobile application, the first mobile application configured to present the second feed, wherein the first mobile application is further configured to switch a presentation of the first feed to a presentation of the second feed in response to a user interaction with the first mobile application.
7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a comment prompt with a first video message from the feed, wherein interaction with the comment prompt via the first mobile application enables a comment to be associated with the first video message.

The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a sharing prompt with a first video message from the feed, wherein interaction with the sharing prompt via the first mobile application generates a link to the first video message, the link configured to be shared and to enable access to the first video message.
9 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing an advertisement prompt with a first video message from the feed, wherein interaction with the advertisement prompt via the first mobile application causes presentation of an advertisement.
10 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising associating a sponsor with a first video message from the feed, wherein the sponsor approved the association with the first video message.
11 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a bookmark prompt with a first video message from the feed, wherein interaction with the bookmark prompt via the first mobile application enables the first video message to be accessed from a plurality of bookmarked messages.
12 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing an item purchase prompt with a first video message from the feed, wherein interaction with the item purchase prompt via the first mobile application enables presentation of information to initiate purchase of an item.
13 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a donation prompt with a first video message from the feed, wherein interaction with the donation prompt via the first mobile application enables presentation of information to pay a donation.
14 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a comment prompt with the live video message, wherein interaction with the comment prompt via the first mobile application enables a comment to be associated with the live video message.
15 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a sharing prompt with the live video message, wherein interaction with the sharing prompt via the first mobile application generates a link to the live video message, the link configured to be shared and to enable access to the live video message.
16 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising associating a sponsor with the live video message, wherein the sponsor approved the association with the live video message.
17 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising providing a donation prompt with the live video message, wherein interaction with the donation prompt via the first mobile application enables presentation of information to pay a donation.
18 . A system, comprising:
one or more servers including memory, machine-readable instructions, and one or more processors, the one or more processors configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to:
receive, at the one or more servers, a plurality of video messages from one or more mobile applications executable on a corresponding one or more mobile devices;
store the plurality of video messages on the one or more servers, wherein one or more stored video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers are associated with expiration information to determine when the one or more stored video messages can no longer be included in a feed;
select, for inclusion in a feed, a subset of video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers, wherein selecting the subset of video messages for inclusion in the feed is based on the expiration information;
provide the feed from the one or more servers to a first mobile application executable on a first mobile device, the first mobile application configured to present the feed;
transmit, from the one or more servers to the first mobile application, an indication that a second mobile application executable on a second mobile device has initiated a live stream of a live video message generated via the second mobile application; and
in response to a request from the first mobile application to receive the live stream of the live video message, live stream the live video message from the second mobile application to the first mobile application via the one or more servers, the first mobile application configured to present the live stream of the live video message.
19 . The system of claim 18 , wherein at least one of the video messages stored on the one or more servers includes text.
20 . The system of claim 18 , wherein at least one of the video messages stored on the one or more servers includes an attached image or attached audio.
21 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the live video message includes text.
22 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the live video message includes an attached image or attached audio.
23 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the feed is a first feed and the subset of video messages is a first subset of video messages, and wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to:
select, for inclusion in a second feed, a second subset of video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers, wherein selecting the second subset of video messages for inclusion in the second feed is based on the expiration information, the second feed differing from the first feed; and
provide the second feed from the one or more servers to the first mobile application, the first mobile application configured to present the second feed, wherein the first mobile application is further configured to switch a presentation of the first feed to a presentation of the second feed in response to a user interaction with the first mobile application.

The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to provide a comment prompt with a first video message from the feed, wherein interaction with the comment prompt via the first mobile application enables a comment to be associated with the first video message.

The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to provide a sharing prompt with a first video message from the feed, wherein interaction with the sharing prompt via the first mobile application generates a link to the first video message, the link configured to be shared and to enable access to the first video message.

The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to provide an advertisement prompt with a first video message from the feed, wherein interaction with the advertisement prompt via the first mobile application causes presentation of an advertisement.
27 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to associate a sponsor with a first video message from the feed, wherein the sponsor approved the association with the first video message.
28 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to provide a bookmark prompt with a first video message from the feed, wherein interaction with the bookmark prompt via the first mobile application enables the first video message to be accessed from a plurality of bookmarked messages.

The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to provide an item purchase prompt with a first video message from the feed, wherein interaction with the item purchase prompt via the first mobile application enables presentation of information to initiate purchase of an item.
30 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to provide a donation prompt with a first video message from the feed, wherein interaction with the donation prompt via the first mobile application enables presentation of information to pay a donation.
31 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to provide a comment prompt with the live video message, wherein interaction with the comment prompt via the first mobile application enables a comment to be associated with the live video message.
32 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to provide a sharing prompt with the live video message, wherein interaction with the sharing prompt via the first mobile application generates a link to the live video message, the link configured to be shared and to enable access to the live video message.
33 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to associate a sponsor with the live video message, wherein the sponsor approved the association with the live video message.
34 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to provide a donation prompt with the live video message, wherein interaction with the donation prompt via the first mobile application enables presentation of information to pay a donation.
35 . The method of claim 1 , wherein a video message the one or more stored video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers are further associated with scheduled airtime information to determine when the one or more stored video messages can first be included in a feed, and wherein selecting the subset of video messages for inclusion in the feed is based on the scheduled airtime information.
36 . The system of claim 18 , wherein the one or more stored video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers are further associated with scheduled airtime information to determine when the one or more stored video messages can first be included in a feed, and wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to select the subset of video messages for inclusion in the feed based on the scheduled airtime information.
37 . A method, comprising:
receiving, at one or more servers, a plurality of video messages from one or more mobile applications executable on a corresponding one or more mobile devices;
storing the plurality of video messages on the one or more servers, wherein one or more stored video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers are associated with expiration information to determine when the one or more stored video messages can no longer be included in a feed;
selecting, for inclusion in a feed, a subset of video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers, wherein selecting the subset of video messages for inclusion in the feed is based on the expiration information;
providing the feed from the one or more servers to a first mobile application executable on a first mobile device, the first mobile application configured to present the feed;
receiving, at the one or more servers from a second mobile application executable on a second mobile device, a live stream of a live video message generated via the second mobile application; and
live streaming the live video message from the second mobile application to the first mobile application via the one or more servers, the first mobile application configured to present the live stream of the live video message.
38 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the one or more stored video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers are further associated with scheduled airtime information to determine when the one or more stored video messages can first be included in a feed, and wherein selecting the subset of video messages for inclusion in the feed is based on the scheduled airtime information.
39 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the feed is a first feed and the subset of video messages is a first subset of video messages, the method further comprising:
selecting, for inclusion in a second feed, a second subset of video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers, wherein selecting the second subset of video messages for inclusion in the second feed is based on the expiration information, the second feed differing from the first feed; and
providing the second feed from the one or more servers to the first mobile application, the first mobile application configured to present the second feed, wherein the first mobile application is further configured to switch a presentation of the first feed to a presentation of the second feed in response to a user interaction with the first mobile application.
40 . A system, comprising:
one or more servers including memory, machine-readable instructions, and one or more processors, the one or more processors configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to:
receive, at the one or more servers, a plurality of video messages from one or more mobile applications executable on a corresponding one or more mobile devices;
store the plurality of video messages on the one or more servers, wherein one or more stored video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers are associated with expiration information to determine when the one or more stored video messages can no longer be included in a feed;
select, for inclusion in a feed, a subset of video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers, wherein selecting the subset of video messages for inclusion in the feed is based on the expiration information;
provide the feed from the one or more servers to a first mobile application executable on a first mobile device, the first mobile application configured to present the feed;
receive, at the one or more servers from a second mobile application executable on a second mobile device, a live stream of a live video message generated via the second mobile application; and
live stream the live video message from the second mobile application to the first mobile application via the one or more servers, the first mobile application configured to present the live stream of the live video message.
41 . The system of claim 40 , wherein the feed is a first feed and the subset of video messages is a first subset of video messages, and wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to:
select, for inclusion in a second feed, a second subset of video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers, wherein selecting the second subset of video messages for inclusion in the second feed is based on the expiration information, the second feed differing from the first feed; and
provide the second feed from the one or more servers to the first mobile application, the first mobile application configured to present the second feed, wherein the first mobile application is further configured to switch a presentation of the first feed to a presentation of the second feed in response to a user interaction with the first mobile application.
42 . The system of claim 40 , wherein the one or more stored video messages from among the plurality of video messages stored on the one or more servers are further associated with scheduled airtime information to determine when the one or more stored video messages can first be included in a feed, and wherein the one or more processors are configured to execute the machine-readable instructions to select the subset of video messages for inclusion in the feed based on the scheduled airtime information.
