Information Management System and Method

1 . A computer-implemented method, executed on a computing device, comprising:

gathering information from a datasource concerning one or more organizations, thus defining gathered information;

enabling a user to select a viewing lens from a plurality of available viewing lenses through which to display the gathered information, thus defining a selected viewing lens; and

rendering at least a portion of the gathered information based, at least in part, upon the selected viewing lens.

2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the plurality of available viewing lenses includes one or more of:

a macro level viewing lens;

a facility level viewing lens;

a unit level viewing lens;

a cohort level viewing lens; and

an individual level viewing lens.

3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the one or more organizations include one or more of:

a medical organization, a process control organization, a networking organization, a computing organization, a manufacturing organization, an agricultural organization, an energy/refining organization, an aerospace organization, a forestry organization, and a defense organization.

4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the gathered information concerns, at least in part, the wellbeing of one or more staff of the one or more organizations.

5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the gathered information concerns, at least in part, one or more incidents that occurred within the one or more organizations.

6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the gathered information concerns, at least in part, one or more thresholds of one or more devices within the one or more organizations.

7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the gathered information concerns, at least in part, one or more alarms that occurred within the one or more organizations.

8 . A computer program product residing on a computer readable medium having a plurality of instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

gathering information from a datasource concerning one or more organizations, thus defining gathered information;

enabling a user to select a viewing lens from a plurality of available viewing lenses through which to display the gathered information, thus defining a selected viewing lens; and

rendering at least a portion of the gathered information based, at least in part, upon the selected viewing lens.

9 . The computer program product of claim 8 wherein the plurality of available viewing lenses includes one or more of:

a macro level viewing lens;

a facility level viewing lens;

a unit level viewing lens;

a cohort level viewing lens; and

an individual level viewing lens.

10 . The computer program product of claim 8 wherein the one or more organizations include one or more of:

a medical organization, a process control organization, a networking organization, a computing organization, a manufacturing organization, an agricultural organization, an energy/refining organization, an aerospace organization, a forestry organization, and a defense organization.

11 . The computer program product of claim 8 wherein the gathered information concerns, at least in part, the wellbeing of one or more staff of the one or more organizations.

12 . The computer program product of claim 8 wherein the gathered information concerns, at least in part, one or more incidents that occurred within the one or more organizations.

13 . The computer program product of claim 8 wherein the gathered information concerns, at least in part, one or more thresholds of one or more devices within the one or more organizations.

14 . The computer program product of claim 8 wherein the gathered information concerns, at least in part, one or more alarms that occurred within the one or more organizations.

15 . A computing system including a processor and memory configured to perform operations comprising:

gathering information from a datasource concerning one or more organizations, thus defining gathered information;

enabling a user to select a viewing lens from a plurality of available viewing lenses through which to display the gathered information, thus defining a selected viewing lens; and

rendering at least a portion of the gathered information based, at least in part, upon the selected viewing lens.

16 . The computing system of claim 15 wherein the plurality of available viewing lenses includes one or more of:

a macro level viewing lens;

a facility level viewing lens;

a unit level viewing lens;

a cohort level viewing lens; and

an individual level viewing lens.

17 . The computing system of claim 15 wherein the one or more organizations include one or more of:

a medical organization, a process control organization, a networking organization, a computing organization, a manufacturing organization, an agricultural organization, an energy/refining organization, an aerospace organization, a forestry organization, and a defense organization.

18 . The computing system of claim 15 wherein the gathered information concerns, at least in part, the wellbeing of one or more staff of the one or more organizations.

19 . The computing system of claim 15 wherein the gathered information concerns, at least in part, one or more incidents that occurred within the one or more organizations.

20 . The computing system of claim 15 wherein the gathered information concerns, at least in part, one or more thresholds of one or more devices within the one or more organizations.

21 . The computing system of claim 15 wherein the gathered information concerns, at least in part, one or more alarms that occurred within the one or more organizations.
