Abstract

A first geo-fence extending along a path taken by a user within a store of a merchant may be determined based at least in part on an electronic device associated with the user. Second geo-fences extending along path(s) taken by employee(s) of the store may be determined based at least in part on electronic device(s) associated with respective employee(s). It may be determined that a portion of the first geo-fence at least partially overlaps with at least one second geo-fence within a window of time, which terminates when the user leaves the store. Based at least in part on determining the overlap, the corresponding respective employees associated with the at least one second geo-fence are selected and information regarding the one or more employees is presented via the electronic device of the user or a point-of-sale (POS) device of the merchant.

Claims (51)

1. A system comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory communicatively coupled to the one or more processors and storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform acts comprising:

determining a first geo-fence extending along one or more paths taken by a user within a store of a merchant, wherein the first geo-fence is determined based at least in part on an electronic device associated with the user;

determining one or more second geo-fences extending along paths taken by respective employees of one or more employees within the store, wherein the one or more second geo-fences are determined based at least in part on electronic devices associated with the respective employees;

determining that a portion of the first geo-fence overlaps with at least one second geo-fence of the one or more second geo-fences within a window of time, wherein the window of time terminates when the user leaves the store;

based at least in part on determining that the portion of the first geo-fence overlaps with the at least one second geo-fence, selecting corresponding respective employees associated with the at least one second geo-fence;

determining a plurality of confidence scores, wherein a confidence score of the plurality of confidence scores is associated with a particular employee of the corresponding respective employees, and wherein the confidence score indicates a likelihood that the particular employee interacted with the user, and wherein determination of the confidence score is based at least in part on a size of the portion, a duration of time of overlap, and at least one item selected for purchase by the user; and

causing information regarding the one or more employees to be presented via the electronic device associated with the user or a point-of-sale (POS) terminal of the merchant, the information appearing as an ordered list based at least in part on the plurality of confidence scores.

2. The system of claim 1 , the acts further comprising:

based at least in part on determining that the portion of the first geo-fence overlaps with the at least one second geo-fence within the window of time, determining a time of interaction greater than a threshold time.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first geo-fence or the one or more second geo-fences has a size that is based at least in part on an item being purchased by the user.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein a size of at least one of the first geo-fence or the one or more second geo-fences increases as an amount of available time the user has before an appointment increases.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more employees comprise employees that offer for acquisition items that are associated with a same category of items identified in purchase history for the user.

6. The system of claim 1 , the acts further comprising:

establishing a wireless leash between the electronic device associated with the user and a location in the store,

wherein determining the first geo-fence is based at least in part on establishing the wireless leash.

7. The system of claim 1 , the acts further comprising:

establishing a wireless leash between the electronic device associated with the user and a location in the store,

wherein selecting the corresponding respective employees is based at least in part on establishing the wireless leash.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the information comprises a recommendation that it was at least one of the corresponding respective employees associated with the at least one second geo-fence who assisted the user while the user shopped at the store.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the recommendation comprises a graphical representation of the at least one of the corresponding respective employees overlaid on a virtual map of the first geo-fence.

10. The system of claim 9 , wherein the recommendation is included on a payment receipt displayed on at least one of the electronic device associated with the user or the POS terminal.

11. The system of claim 1 wherein a predictive model is utilized to determine the plurality of confidence scores.

12. A method comprising:

determining a first geo-fence extending along one or more paths taken by a user within a store of a merchant, wherein the first geo-fence is determined based at least in part on an electronic device associated with the user;

determining one or more second geo-fences extending along paths taken by respective employees of one or more employees within the store, wherein the one or more second geo-fences are determined based at least in part on electronic devices associated with the respective employees;

determining that a portion of the first geo-fence overlaps with at least one second geo-fence of the one or more second geo-fences within a window of time, wherein the window of time terminates when the user leaves the store;

based at least in part on determining that the portion of the first geo-fence overlaps with the at least one second geo-fence, selecting corresponding respective employees associated with the at least one second geo-fence;

determining a plurality of confidence scores, wherein a confidence score of the plurality of confidence scores is associated with a particular employee of the corresponding respective employees, and wherein the confidence score indicates a likelihood that the particular employee interacted with the user, and wherein determination of the confidence score is based at least in part on a size of the portion, a duration of time of overlap, and at least one item selected for purchase by the user; and

causing information regarding the one or more employees to be presented via the electronic device associated with the user or a point-of-sale (POS) terminal of the merchant, the information appearing as an ordered list based at least in part on the plurality of confidence scores.

13. The method of claim 12 , further comprising:

based at least in part on determining that the portion of the first geo-fence overlaps with the at least one second geo-fence within the window of time, determining a time of interaction greater than a threshold time.

14. The method of claim 12 , wherein the window of time begins when the user enters a premises of the store.

15. The method of claim 12 , wherein at least one of the first geo-fence or the one or more second geo-fences has a size that is based at least in part on an item being purchased by the user.

16. The method of claim 12 , further comprising:

establishing a wireless leash between the electronic device associated with the electronic device associated with the user and a location in the store,

wherein determining the first geo-fence is based at least in part on establishing the wireless leash.

17. The method of claim 12 , further comprising:

establishing a wireless leash between the electronic device associated with the user and a location in the store,

wherein selecting the corresponding respective employees is based at least in part on establishing the wireless leash.

18. One or more non-transitory computer-readable media that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform acts comprising:

determining a first geo-fence extending along one or more paths taken by a user within a store of a merchant, wherein the first geo-fence is determined based at least in part on an electronic device associated with the user;

determining one or more second geo-fences extending along paths taken by respective employees of one or more employees within the store, wherein the one or more second geo-fences are determined based at least in part on electronic devices associated with the respective employees;

determining that a portion of the first geo-fence overlaps with at least one second geo-fence of the one or more second geo-fences within a window of time, wherein the window of time terminates when the user leaves the store;

based at least in part on determining that the portion of the first geo-fence overlaps with the at least one second geo-fence, selecting corresponding respective employees associated with the at least one second geo-fence;

determining a plurality of confidence scores, wherein a confidence score of the plurality of confidence scores is associated with a particular employee of the corresponding respective employees, and wherein the confidence score indicates a likelihood that the particular employee interacted with the user, and wherein determination of the confidence score is based at least in part on a size of the portion, a duration of time of overlap, and at least one item selected for purchase by the user; and

causing information regarding the one or more employees to be presented via the electronic device associated with the user or a point-of-sale (POS) terminal of the merchant, the information appearing as an ordered list based at least in part on the plurality of confidence scores.

19. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 18 , wherein the information comprises a recommendation that it was at least one of the corresponding respective employees associated with the at least one second geo-fence who assisted the user while the user shopped at the store.

20. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 19 , wherein the recommendation comprises a graphical representation of the at least one of the corresponding respective employees overlaid on a virtual map of the first geo-fence.

21. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 20 , wherein the recommendation is included on a payment receipt displayed on the electronic device associated with the user or a display of the POS terminal.
