Abstract

Systems, methods, and apparatuses in accordance with embodiments of the invention can use a variety of computing devices to interact with and/or control a secure enclosure for a key fob. The secure enclosure may enclose the key fob, and includes a computing device, a locking mechanism, and at least one actuator. An actuator may control the locking mechanism. The actuator, when activated, may exert a force on a key fob secured within the secure enclosure, which may cause one of the buttons of the key fob to be depressed. The computing device controls the activation of the actuators. The computing device may have wireless communication capability that allows a user to wirelessly control the actuators of the computing device, for example, to lock or unlock the enclosure, or to depress a button of the key fob secured within the enclosure.

Claims (38)

1 . A secure enclosure comprising:

a first housing comprising:

a first actuator and a second actuator; and

a second housing configured to couple with the first housing, the second housing comprising:

a plurality of pins,

wherein the first actuator and the second actuator are positioned such that an object arranged within a cavity formed by the first housing and the second housing is positioned between a first portion of the plurality of pins and the first actuator and between a second portion of the plurality of pins and the second actuator, such that when the first actuator is activated, the object is moved into contact with the first portion of the plurality of pins and when the second actuator is activated, the object is moved into contact with the second portion of the plurality of pins.

2 . The secure enclosure of claim 1 , further comprising:

a locking mechanism configured to secure the first housing to the second housing.

3 . The secure enclosure of claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first actuator or the second actuator is activated based on a received wireless signal.

4 . The secure enclosure of claim 1 , wherein activation of at least one of the first actuator or the second actuator causes at least one of the first actuator or the second actuator to move in a direction away from the first housing towards the second housing.

5 . The secure enclosure of claim 1 , wherein a cap is coupled to at least one of the first portion or the second portion of the plurality of pins.

6 . The secure enclosure of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of pins has a semi-spherical head.

7 . The secure enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the object is a key fob.

8 . The secure enclosure of claim 1 , further comprising a retaining fence configured to restrict movement of the object within the cavity.

9 . The secure enclosure of claim 1 , wherein the object includes a first button and a second button.

10 . The secure enclosure of claim 9 , wherein when the first actuator is activated, the first button of the object is depressed by the first portion of the plurality of pins, and

wherein when the second actuator is activated, the second button of the object is depressed by the second portion of the plurality of pins.

11 . A secure enclosure configured to contain an object, the secure enclosure comprising:

a first actuator;

a second actuator; and

a plurality of pins,

wherein when the object is within the secure enclosure the object is in between a first portion of the plurality of pins and the first actuator such the object is moved into contact with the first portion of the plurality of pins when the first actuator is activated, and

wherein the object is in between a second portion of the plurality of pins and the second actuator such the object is moved into contact with the second portion of the plurality of pins when the second actuator is activated.

12 . The secure enclosure of claim 11 , wherein at least one of the first actuator or the second actuator is activated based on a received wireless signal.

13 . The secure enclosure of claim 11 , wherein activation of at least one of the first actuator or the second actuator causes at least one of the first actuator or the second actuator to move in a direction towards the object.

14 . The secure enclosure of claim 11 , wherein a cap is coupled to at least one of the first portion or the second portion of the plurality of pins.

15 . The secure enclosure of claim 11 , wherein each of the plurality of pins has a semi-spherical head.

16 . The secure enclosure of claim 11 , wherein the object is a key fob.

17 . The secure enclosure of claim 11 , further comprising a retaining fence configured to restrict movement of the object.

18 . The secure enclosure of claim 11 , wherein the object includes a first button and a second button.

19 . The secure enclosure of claim 18 , wherein when the first actuator is activated, the first button of the object is depressed by the first portion of the plurality of pins, and

wherein when the second actuator is activated, the second button of the object is depressed by the second portion of the plurality of pins.

20 . A method comprising:

receiving an object within a cavity of a secure enclosure, the object having a first button and a second button; and

activating at least one of a first actuator or a second actuator of the secure enclosure,

wherein when an object is arranged within the cavity, the object is between a first portion of a plurality of pins and the first actuator and between a second portion of the plurality of pins and the second actuator such that:

when the first actuator is activated, the object is moved into contact with the first portion of the plurality of pins of the secure enclosure to depress the first button, and

when the second actuator is activated, the object is moved into contact with the second portion of the plurality of pins of the secure enclosure to depress the second button.
