Abstract

An apparatus and method for winding a cable is disclosed. The apparatus includes a first plate and a second plate that engage via oblong slots at a central axis to form a cable winder system. Each of the first plate and the second plate have a handle used to rotate the cable winder system to collect wound cable on the cable winder system.

Claims (70)

1 . A cable winder system, the system comprising:

a first plate having a first end and a second end, the first end having a first oblong slot along a central axis intermediate a first wing and a second wing;

a second plate having a third end and a fourth end, the third end having a second oblong slot along the central axis intermediate a third wing and a fourth;

wherein the first wing comprises:

a first aperture, having a circular shape, at the second end; and

a second aperture, having an oval shape, at the second end intermediate the first aperture and the central axis

a first handle positioned on the first plate offset from the central axis and proximate the second end; and

a second handle positioned on the second plate along the central axis and proximate the fourth end; and

wherein the first plate and the second plate are configured to couple along the central axis via the first oblong slot of the first plate and the second oblong slot of the second plate.

2 . The cable winder system according to claim 1 , wherein the second wing comprises:

a third aperture, having a circular shape, at the second end; and

a fourth aperture, having an oval shape, at the second end intermediate the third aperture and the central axis.

3 . The cable winder system according to claim 1 , wherein the third wing comprises:

a fifth aperture, having a circular shape, at the fourth end; and

a sixth aperture, having an oval shape, at the fourth end intermediate the fifth aperture and the central axis.

4 . The cable winder system according to claim 1 , wherein the fourth wing comprises:

a seventh aperture, having a circular shape, at the fourth end; and

a eighth aperture, having an oval shape, at the fourth end intermediate the seventh aperture and the central axis.

5 . The cable winder system according to claim 1 , wherein:

the second wing comprises:

a third aperture, having a circular shape, at the second end; and

a fourth aperture, having an oval shape, at the second end intermediate the third aperture and the central axis;

the third wing comprises:

a fifth aperture, having a circular shape, at the fourth end; and

a sixth aperture, having an oval shape, at the fourth end intermediate the fifth aperture and the central axis; and

the fourth wing comprises:

a seventh aperture, having a circular shape, at the fourth end; and

a eighth aperture, having an oval shape, at the fourth end intermediate the seventh aperture and the central axis.

6 . The cable winder system according to claim 1 , wherein the first handle, the second handle, or a combination thereof is a revolving handle.

7 . The cable winder according to claim 1 , wherein a width of the first oblong slot and a width of the second oblong slot is equal to a depth of the first plate and a depth of the second plate.

8 . A cable winder system, the system comprising:

a first plate having a first end and a second end, the first end having a first oblong slot along a central axis intermediate a first wing and a second wing;

a second plate having a third end and a fourth end, the third end having a second oblong slot along the central axis intermediate a third wing and a fourth;

wherein the third wing comprises:

a fifth aperture, having a circular shape, at the fourth end; and

a sixth aperture, having an oval shape, intermediate the fifth aperture and the central axis;

a first handle positioned on the first plate offset from the central axis and proximate the second end; and

a second handle positioned on the second plate along the central axis and proximate the fourth end; and

wherein the first plate and the second plate are configured to couple along a central axis via the first oblong slot of the first plate and the second oblong slot of the second plate.

9 . The cable winder system according to claim 8 , wherein the second wing comprises:

a third aperture, having a circular shape, at the second end; and

a fourth aperture, having an oval shape, at the second end intermediate the third aperture and the central axis.

10 . The cable winder system according to claim 8 , wherein the fourth wing comprises:

a seventh aperture, having a circular shape, at the fourth end; and

a eighth aperture, having an oval shape, at the fourth end, intermediate the seventh aperture and the central axis.

11 . The cable winder system according to claim 8 , wherein the first handle, the second handle, or a combination thereof is a revolving handle.

12 . The cable winder according to claim 8 , wherein a width of the first oblong slot and a width of the second oblong slot is equal to the depth of the first plate and a depth of the second plate.

13 . A cable winder system, the system comprising:

a first plate having a first end and a second end, the first end having a first oblong slot along a central axis intermediate a first wing and a second wing;

a second plate having a third end and a fourth end, the third end having a second oblong slot along the central axis intermediate a third wing and a fourth;

a first handle positioned on the first plate offset from the central axis and proximate the second end; and

a second handle positioned on the second plate along the central axis and proximate the fourth end;

wherein the first plate and the second plate are configured to couple along the central axis via the first oblong slot of the first plate and the second oblong slot of the second plate; and

wherein at least one of the first wing, the second wing, the third wing, or the fourth wing comprises a means of securing a cable.

14 . The cable winder system according to claim 13 , wherein the first handle, the second handle, or a combination thereof is a revolving handle.
