Abstract

A sterilization cabinet, comprising a top panel, at least two side panels, and a floor panel forming a part of a chamber of the sterilization cabinet; at least one door connected to at least one of the at least two side panels of the sterilization cabinet; a vent formed in at least one of the two side panels; at least one first filter covering the vent and a filter cover configured to hold the first filter against the vent; a drain positioned in the floor panel, wherein the floor panel has a slope configured to cause condensate within the chamber to flow into the drain and wherein the drain is the only outlet for the condensate along the floor panel; and a second filter covering the drain such that condensate flowing into the drain passes through the second filter.

Claims (43)

1. A method for confirming integrity of a sterilization unit, the method comprising:

closing a sterilization unit having at least one vented area that allows fluids to pass into and out of the sterilization unit where the at least one vented area is located in a panel of the sterilization unit;

positioning a first filter to fully cover the at least one vented area and such that the first filter extends beyond a perimeter of the at least one vented area;

positioning a frame member over the first filter such that a portion of the frame member is engaged with a protrusion extending from the panel;

positioning a second filter over the first filter such that the second filter covers the at least one vented area;

initiating a sterilization cycle on the sterilization unit to sterilize an internal region of the sterilization unit; and

affixing a filter cover against the sterilization unit to engage the second filter directly against the first filter.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the protrusion comprises a threaded rod.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the protrusion comprises a hook.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein positioning the first filter to fully cover the at least one vented area causes the first filter to form a seal with the at least one vented area.

The method of claim 1 , further comprising affixing an edge of the filter cover against the sterilization unit to engage the second filter directly against the first filter and the first filter against the panel such that the edge forms a seal with both the first filter and the second filter against the sterilization unit.

6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising loosening the filter cover from the sterilization unit to disengage the seal of the edge from at least the second filter against the sterilization unit wherein positioning the second filter over the first filter causes the second filter to form a seal.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the frame member is engaged with a plurality of protrusions extending from the panel.

8. A method for confirming integrity of a sterilization unit, the method comprising:

closing a sterilization unit having at least one vented area that allows fluids to pass into and out of the sterilization unit where the at least one vented area is located in a panel of the sterilization unit;

positioning a first filter to fully cover the at least one vented area and such that the first filter extends beyond a perimeter of the at least one vented area;

positioning a frame member over the first filter such that a portion of the frame member is engaged with a protrusion extending from the panel;

positioning a second filter over the first filter such that the second filter covers the at least one vented area;

initiating a sterilization cycle on the sterilization unit to sterilize an internal region of the sterilization unit; and

detaching the second filter from both the first filter and the sterilization unit, where the first filter remains engaged to the panel.

9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising examining the second filter to assess an integrity of the first filter without removing the first filter from the sterilization unit.

10. A method for confirming integrity of a sterilization unit, the method comprising:

closing a sterilization unit having at least one vented area that allows fluids to pass into and out of the sterilization unit where the at least one vented area is located in a panel of the sterilization unit;

positioning a first filter to fully cover the at least one vented area and such that the first filter extends beyond a perimeter of the at least one vented area;

positioning a second filter over the first filter such that the second filter covers the at least one vented area;

clamping an edge of a filter cover against the sterilization unit to engage the second filter directly against the first filter and the first filter against the panel such that the edge forms a seal with both the first filter and the second filter against the sterilization unit;

initiating a sterilization cycle on the sterilization unit to sterilize an internal region of the sterilization unit;

unclamping the filter cover from the sterilization unit to disengage the seal of the edge from at least the second filter against the sterilization unit; and

positioning a frame member over the first filter.

11. The method of claim 10 , further comprising positioning the frame member over a protrusion extending from panel.

12. The method of claim 10 , wherein the filter cover comprises a clamp with a hinge.

13. The method of claim 10 , further comprising clamping the edge of the filter cover such that a seal forms simultaneously with both the first filter and the second filter against the sterilization unit.

14. The method of claim 10 , further comprising using a plurality of clamps to clamp the edge of the filter cover against the sterilization unit.

15. The method of claim 10 , wherein the filter cover is secured to the sterilization unit by a hinge.

16. A method for confirming integrity of a sterilization unit, the method comprising:

closing a sterilization unit having at least one vented area that allows fluids to pass into and out of the sterilization unit where the at least one vented area is located in a panel of the sterilization unit;

positioning a first filter to fully cover the at least one vented area and such that the first filter extends beyond a perimeter of the at least one vented area;

positioning a second filter over the first filter such that the second filter covers the at least one vented area;

clamping an edge of a filter cover against the sterilization unit to engage the second filter directly against the first filter and the first filter against the panel such that the edge forms a seal with both the first filter and the second filter against the sterilization unit;

initiating a sterilization cycle on the sterilization unit to sterilize an internal region of the sterilization unit;

unclamping the filter cover from the sterilization unit to disengage the seal of the edge from at least the second filter against the sterilization unit; and

detaching the second filter from both the first filter and the sterilization unit, wherein the first filter remains engaged to the panel.

17. The method of claim 16 , further comprising examining the second filter to assess an integrity of the first filter without removing the first filter from the sterilization unit.
