Abstract

A sterilization cabinet, comprising a top panel, at least two side panels, and a floor panel forming a part of a chamber of the sterilization cabinet; at least one door connected to at least one of the at least two side panels of the sterilization cabinet; a vent formed in at least one of the two side panels; at least one first filter covering the vent and a filter cover configured to hold the first filter against the vent; a valve positioned in a panel, wherein the valve is configured to transition between a closed configuration and an open configuration, and wherein the valve is configured to automatically transition between a closed configuration and an open configuration.

Claims (29)

1 . A sterilization unit for use with an autoclave, comprising:

a cabinet body defining a chamber and having an opening, the cabinet body having an open configuration allowing for positioning of one or more trays within the chamber through the opening and a closed configuration that prevents removal of the one or more trays from the chamber;

a vent in the cabinet body that allows steam to enter the chamber when the cabinet body is in the closed configuration; and

a valve positioned at a lowest level of the sterilization cabinet, wherein the valve is configured to allow condensate to flow out of the cabinet body, and wherein the valve configured to transition between a closed configuration and an open configuration depending on a pressure level, after completion of a sterilization of one or more trays disposed within the cabinet body.

2 . The sterilization unit of claim 1 , wherein the valve is further configured to transition between an open configuration and a closed configuration depending on the temperature within the chamber.

3 . The sterilization unit of claim 2 , wherein the valve is comprised of a bimetallic construction.

4 . The sterilization unit of claim 2 , further comprising a timer configured to transition the valve between an open configuration and a closed configuration depending on the amount of time that has lapsed during the sterilization process.

5 . The sterilization unit of claim 1 , wherein the valve is configured to transition between an open configuration and a closed configuration depending on the pressure level within the chamber.

6 . The sterilization unit of claim 1 , further comprising a timer configured to transition the valve between an open configuration and a closed configuration depending on the amount of time that has lapsed during the sterilization process.

7 . The sterilization unit of claim 1 , wherein the valve is a drain.

8 . The sterilization unit of claim 7 , wherein the drain is in a recess, the recess comprising a material enhancing heat retention and evaporation of condensate flowing into the recess.

9 . The sterilization unit of claim 8 , wherein the recess comprises stainless steel.

10 . The sterilization unit of claim 1 , wherein the valve is in a floor panel.

11 . The sterilization unit of claim 10 , wherein the floor panel is pitched toward the valve such that any condensate is directed by gravity towards the valve.

12 . The sterilization unit of claim 11 , wherein the valve is positioned in the middle of the floor panel.

13 . The sterilization unit of claim 11 , wherein the floor panel comprises four substantially trapezoidal-shaped portions, wherein each of the four substantially trapezoidal-shaped portions is sloped toward the middle of the floor panel and at least one side of each of the four substantially trapezoidal-shaped portions forms a part of the valve.

14 . The sterilization unit of claim 1 , further comprising a door covering the opening of the chamber when the chamber is in the closed configuration.

15 . A sterilization unit for use with an autoclave, comprising:

a cabinet body defining a chamber and having an opening on a front side of the cabinet body, the cabinet body having an open configuration allowing for positioning of one or more trays within the chamber through the opening and a closed configuration that prevents removal of the one or more trays from the chamber;

a door having a gasket, the door and the gasket configured to secure to the open frame to create a closed configuration in which the door seals the chamber;

a hinge coupling the door to the chamber, where the hinge is configured to allow the door to open and close;

one or more shelves within the chamber, the one or more shelves configured to support the one or more trays within the chamber;

a vent in the cabinet body that allows steam to enter the chamber when the cabinet body is in the closed configuration; and

a valve positioned at a lowest level of the cabinet body, wherein the valve is configured to allow condensate to flow out of the cabinet body, and wherein the valve is configured to automatically open and close depending on a pressure level.

16 . The sterilization unit of claim 15 , wherein the valve is further configured to open and close depending on a temperature level.

17 . The sterilization unit of claim 15 , wherein the valve is comprised of a bimetallic construction.

18 . The sterilization unit of claim 15 , wherein the valve is configured to open and close depending on a pressure level within the cabinet body.

19 . The sterilization unit of claim 15 , wherein the valve is further configured to open and close depending on an amount of lapsed time.

20 . The sterilization unit of claim 15 , wherein the valve comprises a drain.
