Abstract

The present disclosure relates to data transmission methods, network devices. One example data transmission method includes: a first network node sends a first indication information to a second network node, the first indication information includes information about an uplink data volume of a buffer of a terminal device, or the first indication information indicates a relationship between an uplink data volume of a buffer of a terminal device and a predefined data volume threshold.

Claims (48)

1 . A method, comprising:

receiving, by a first network device, a first report from a terminal device, wherein the first report indicates an uplink data volume of a buffer of the terminal device, and wherein the first network device is a distributed unit (DU) of a base station; and

based on the uplink data volume of the buffer of the terminal device being greater than or equal to a predefined data volume threshold preconfigured by a second network device, sending, by the first network device, first indication information to the second network device, wherein the second network device is a central unit (CU) of the base station, and wherein the first indication information indicates a relationship between the uplink data volume of the buffer of the terminal device and the predefined data volume threshold preconfigured by the second network device.

2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises:

receiving, by the first network device, second indication information from the second network device, wherein the second indication information indicates the predefined data volume threshold.

3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first indication information indicates that the uplink data volume of the buffer of the terminal device is greater than the predefined data volume threshold, and the method further comprises:

receiving, by the first network device, a command message from the second network device, wherein the command message instructs the terminal device to switch to an active state.

4 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein:

the first network device comprises at least one of a function of a radio link layer control protocol layer, a function of a media access control layer, or a function of a physical layer; or

the second network device comprises at least one of a function of a packet data convergence protocol layer, a function of a service data adaptation layer, or a radio resource control function.

5 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein if the uplink data volume of the buffer of the terminal device is less than the predefined data volume threshold, the first network device does not send the first indication information to the second network device.

6 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein if the uplink data volume of the buffer of the terminal device is less than the predefined data volume threshold, the first network device postpones sending the first indication information to the second network device.

7 . A method, comprising:

receiving, by a second network device, a first indication information sent by a first network device, wherein the first network device is a distributed unit (DU) of a base station and the second network device is a central unit (CU) of the base station, and wherein the first indication information indicates an uplink data volume of a buffer of a terminal device being greater than or equal to a predefined data volume threshold preconfigured by the second network device; and

determining, by the second network device according to the first indication information, whether to perform state switching for the terminal device.

8 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the method further comprises:

sending, by the second network device, second indication information to the first network device, wherein the second indication information indicates the predefined data volume threshold.

9 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the first indication information indicates that the uplink data volume of the buffer of the terminal device is greater than the predefined data volume threshold, and the method further comprises:

sending, by the second network device, a command message instructing the terminal device to switch to an active state.

15 . The first network device according to claim 12 , wherein:

the first network device comprises at least one of a function of a radio link layer control protocol layer, a function of a media access control layer, or a function of a physical layer; or

the second network device comprises at least one of a function of a packet data convergence protocol layer, a function of a service data adaptation layer, or a radio resource control function.

16 . A second network device, comprising:

at least one processor; and

one or more memories including computer instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the second network device to perform operations comprising:

receiving a first indication information sent by a first network device, wherein the first network device is a distributed unit (DU) of a base station and the second network device is a central unit (CU) of the base station, and wherein the first indication information indicates an uplink data volume of a buffer of a terminal device being greater than or equal to a predefined data volume threshold preconfigured by the second network device; and
