4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the workload data is determined based at least in part on data from a first system, and wherein the control of the output of information comprises controlling the output of information from a second system different from the first system.

5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein:

the first system comprises at least one of:

a navigation system,

a vehicle sensor system, and

an Advanced Driver Assistance System, ADAS; and

the second system comprises at least one of:

a mobile communication device, and

a media output device.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the workload of the driver compromises at least one of:

a visual workload of the driver;

an auditory workload of the driver; and

a cognitive workload of the driver.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a set of context data indicative of one or more contexts, wherein each context is associated with a quantitative measure of at least one of: the visual workload of the driver, the auditory workload of the driver, and the cognitive workload of the driver; and

wherein determining the workload data comprises determining, for each context of the set of context data, a quantitative measure of at least one of: the visual workload of the driver, the auditory workload of the driver, and the cognitive workload of the driver.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the control data is configured to modify the output of information to the driver in order to mitigate against overloading the driver.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the control data is

generate information to be output to the driver.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein generating control data comprises inputting the workload data in to a model; and

wherein the model is configured to:

receive, as an input, the workload data,

correlate and/or perform a mapping of the workload data to one or more instructions for controlling the output of information, and

output control data indicative of the one or more instructions for controlling the output of information.

11 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising transmitting, from a server to an in-vehicle system, the control data.

12 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising controlling the output of information to the driver based at least in part on the control data.

13 . An apparatus, comprising:

a memory; and

a processor, the processor configured to control an output of information to a driver of a vehicle by:

determining workload data indicative of a workload of the driver, and

generating control data for controlling the output of information to the driver based at least in part on the workload data,

wherein the control data is configured to, at least one selected from the group of:

delay or expedite the output of the information, or a visual and/or auditory component thereof;

suppress the output of the information, or a visual and/or auditory component thereof;

modify a prominence of the output of the information, or a visual and/or auditory component thereof;

modify the output of the information, or a visual and/or auditory component thereof; and

transform a modality of the output of the information, or visual and/or auditory component thereof.

14 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the apparatus is or is included in at least one of:

a mobile device;

a device integrated into the vehicle;

a navigation device;

a portable device;

a media output device; and

a server.

15 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein controlling the output of information to the driver comprises one or more of:

controlling an output of information to the driver from a mobile communications device;

controlling an output of information to the driver from a media rendering device; and

controlling an output of information to the driver from a navigation device.

16 . The apparatus of claim 13 , wherein the workload data is determined based at least in part on data from a first system, and wherein the control of the output of information comprises controlling the output of information from a second system different from the first system.

17 . The apparatus of claim 13 , further comprising:

receiving a set of context data indicative of one or more contexts, wherein each context is associated with a quantitative measure of at least one of: the visual workload of the driver, the auditory workload of the driver, and the cognitive workload of the driver; and
