Abstract

In a sewing machine, an arm includes, on one side thereof in a first direction, a head. A needle bar is disposed at the head to reciprocally move in a second direction. A feed mechanism feeds a workpiece from one side toward the other side of the head in a third direction. The projection unit disposed at the head projects a projection image toward a bed. The projection unit includes an emitter for projecting image light of the projection image. The photographing unit disposed at the head captures a photographing target. The photographing unit includes an incident portion on which light reflected by the photographing target is incident. The emitter and the incident portion are disposed further toward the one side of the arm in the first direction than the needle bar, and further toward the one side of the head in the third direction than the needle bar.

Claims (23)

1. A sewing machine comprising:

a bed;

a presser bar movable toward the bed in a first direction;

a needle bar movable toward the bed in the first direction;

a projector toward the bed, the projector being positioned farther from the bed than the presser bar in the first direction, the projector including a lens; and

a camera toward the bed, the camera being positioned closer to the bed than the projector to the bed in the first direction.

2. The sewing machine according to claim 1 , wherein

the projector is oriented toward the bed, and

the camera is oriented toward the bed.

3. The sewing machine according to claim 1 ,

wherein a first distance between the needle bar and the projector is greater than a second distance between the needle bar and the camera.

4. The sewing machine according to claim 3 , wherein

the needle bar includes a first end and a second end separated from the first end in the first direction, the first end being positioned closer to the bed than the second end to the bed,

the first distance is a distance between the first end and the projector, and

the second distance is a distance between the first end and the camera.

5. The sewing machine according to claim 1 ,

wherein the projector and the camera are positioned at one side of the needle bar in a second direction crossing the first direction.

6. A sewing machine comprising:

a bed;

a presser bar movable toward the bed in a first direction;

a needle bar movable toward the bed in the first direction;

a projector toward the bed, the projector being positioned farther from the bed than the presser bar in the first direction, the projector projecting an image; and

a camera toward the bed, the camera being positioned closer to the bed than the projector to the bed in the first direction.
