Information Monitoring System and Method

1 . A computer-implemented method executed on a computing device comprising:

identifying a piece of content within a first content platform; and

monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform.

2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the first content platform includes one or more of:

one or more social media platforms;

one or more websites;

one or more video-sharing platforms;

one or more virtual reality platforms;

one or more gaming platforms;

one or more messaging platforms;

one or more financial platforms; and

one or more blog platforms.

3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes:

monitoring the piece of content propagating within the first content platform.

4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes:

monitoring the piece of content propagating from the first content platform to other content platforms.

5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 4 wherein the other content platforms include one or more of:

one or more social media platforms;

one or more websites;

one or more video-sharing platforms;

one or more virtual reality platforms;

one or more gaming platforms;

one or more messaging platforms;

one or more financial platforms; and

one or more blog platforms.

6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:

determining a publisher of the piece of content.

7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the piece of content includes one or more of:

neutral content;

negative content; and

positive content.

8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes:

temporally monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform at intervals over a defined period of time.

9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes one or more of:

generally monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform; and

specifically monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform.

10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes:

monitoring the evolution of the piece of content as it propagates from the first content platform.

11 . A computer program product residing on a computer readable medium having a plurality of instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

identifying a piece of content within a first content platform; and

monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform.

12 . The computer program product of claim 11 wherein the first content platform includes one or more of:

one or more social media platforms;

one or more websites;

one or more video-sharing platforms;

one or more virtual reality platforms;

one or more gaming platforms;

one or more messaging platforms;

one or more financial platforms; and

one or more blog platforms.

13 . The computer program product of claim 11 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes:

monitoring the piece of content propagating within the first content platform.

14 . The computer program product of claim 11 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes:

monitoring the piece of content propagating from the first content platform to other content platforms.

15 . The computer program product of claim 14 wherein the other content platforms include one or more of:

one or more social media platforms;

one or more websites;

one or more video-sharing platforms;

one or more virtual reality platforms;

one or more gaming platforms;

one or more messaging platforms;

one or more financial platforms; and

one or more blog platforms.

16 . The computer program product of claim 11 further comprising:

determining a publisher of the piece of content.

17 . The computer program product of claim 11 wherein the piece of content includes one or more of:

neutral content;

negative content; and

positive content.

18 . The computer program product of claim 11 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes:

temporally monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform at intervals over a defined period of time.

19 . The computer program product of claim 11 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes one or more of:

generally monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform; and

specifically monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform.

20 . The computer program product of claim 11 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes:

monitoring the evolution of the piece of content as it propagates from the first content platform.

21 . A computing system including a processor and memory configured to perform operations comprising:

identifying a piece of content within a first content platform; and

monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform.

22 . The computing system of claim 21 wherein the first content platform includes one or more of:

one or more social media platforms;

one or more websites;

one or more video-sharing platforms;

one or more virtual reality platforms;

one or more gaming platforms;

one or more messaging platforms;

one or more financial platforms; and

one or more blog platforms.

23 . The computing system of claim 21 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes:

monitoring the piece of content propagating within the first content platform.

24 . The computing system of claim 21 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes:

monitoring the piece of content propagating from the first content platform to other content platforms.

25 . The computing system of claim 24 wherein the other content platforms include one or more of:

one or more social media platforms;

one or more websites;

one or more video-sharing platforms;

one or more virtual reality platforms;

one or more gaming platforms;

one or more messaging platforms;

one or more financial platforms; and

one or more blog platforms.

26 . The computing system of claim 21 further comprising:

determining a publisher of the piece of content.

27 . The computing system of claim 21 wherein the piece of content includes one or more of:

neutral content;

negative content; and

positive content.

28 . The computing system of claim 21 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes:

temporally monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform at intervals over a defined period of time.

29 . The computing system of claim 21 wherein monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform includes one or more of:

generally monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform; and

specifically monitoring the propagation for the piece of content from the first content platform.
