Information Monitoring System and Method

1 . A computer-implemented method executed on a computing device comprising:

monitoring information concerning a specific topic across a communications network; and

identifying a theme of the information concerning the specific topic.

2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the communications network includes one or more of:

one or more social media platforms;

one or more websites;

one or more video-sharing platforms;

one or more virtual reality platforms;

one or more gaming platforms;

one or more messaging platforms;

one or more financial platforms; and

one or more blog platforms.

3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein the specific topic includes one or more of:

information concerning a financial security;

information concerning a political position;

information concerning a public expenditure; and

information concerning a product/service.

4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein identifying a theme of the information concerning the specific topic includes:

categorizing the information concerning the specific topic into two or more categories.

5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein identifying a theme of the information concerning the specific topic includes:

defining a general consensus concerning the specific topic into two or more categories.

6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 wherein identifying a theme of the information concerning the specific topic includes:

gathering information concerning the specific topic across a plurality of social media platforms.

7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 further comprising:

providing the theme of the information concerning the specific topic to a third party.

8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 7 wherein the third party includes one or more of:

a potential investor in a financial security;

a potential supporter in a political position;

a potential supporter of a public expenditure; and

a potential supporter of a product/service.

9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 7 wherein the theme of the information concerning a specific topic is generally positive resulting in the third party generally supporting the specific topic.

10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 7 wherein the theme of the information concerning a specific topic is generally negative resulting in the third party generally not supporting the specific topic.

11 . A computer program product residing on a computer readable medium having a plurality of instructions stored thereon which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:

monitoring information concerning a specific topic across a communications network; and

identifying a theme of the information concerning the specific topic.

12 . The computer program product of claim 11 wherein the communications network includes one or more of:

one or more social media platforms;

one or more websites;

one or more video-sharing platforms;

one or more virtual reality platforms;

one or more gaming platforms;

one or more messaging platforms;

one or more financial platforms; and

one or more blog platforms.

13 . The computer program product of claim 11 wherein the specific topic includes one or more of:

information concerning a financial security;

information concerning a political position;

information concerning a public expenditure; and

information concerning a product/service.

14 . The computer program product of claim 11 wherein identifying a theme of the information concerning the specific topic includes:

categorizing the information concerning the specific topic into two or more categories.

15 . The computer program product of claim 11 wherein identifying a theme of the information concerning the specific topic includes:

defining a general consensus concerning the specific topic into two or more categories.

16 . The computer program product of claim 11 wherein identifying a theme of the information concerning the specific topic includes:

gathering information concerning the specific topic across a plurality of social media platforms.

providing the theme of the information concerning the specific topic to a third party.

18 . The computer program product of claim 17 wherein the third party includes one or more of:

a potential investor in a financial security;

a potential supporter in a political position;

a potential supporter of a public expenditure; and

a potential supporter of a product/service.

19 . The computer program product of claim 17 wherein the theme of the information concerning a specific topic is generally positive resulting in the third party generally supporting the specific topic.

20 . The computer program product of claim 17 wherein the theme of the information concerning a specific topic is generally negative resulting in the third party generally not supporting the specific topic.

21 . A computing system including a processor and memory configured to perform operations comprising:

monitoring information concerning a specific topic across a communications network; and

identifying a theme of the information concerning the specific topic.

22 . The computing system of claim 21 wherein the communications network includes one or more of:

one or more social media platforms;

one or more websites;

one or more video-sharing platforms;

one or more virtual reality platforms;

one or more gaming platforms;

one or more messaging platforms;

one or more financial platforms; and

information concerning a financial security;

information concerning a political position;
