Abstract

Described are attachment devices coupleable to an animal crate having at least a portion of at least one wall formed from a mesh network having a plurality of openings. The attachment device comprising includes a base member and a spring-loaded crate attachment member coupled to the base member. The spring-loaded crate attachment member includes a first slider piece and a second slider piece. A first force is applicable to at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece to move the at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece to an insertion state. A spring force biases the at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece from the insertion state to an expanded state.

21 . An attachment assembly comprising:

a mesh network of an animal crate, the mesh network comprising a plurality of openings;

an attachment device comprising:

a base member comprising a first face;

a spring-loaded crate attachment member coupled to the base member proximate the first face and comprising a first slider piece and a second slider piece that are each slidable relative to the base member;

an insertion position where the first slider piece and the second slider piece are pressed against the mesh network to insert the first slider piece and the second slider piece through at least one of the plurality of openings; and

an attached position where the base member is positioned on a first side of the mesh network and at least a portion of each of the first slider piece and the second slider piece is positioned on a second side of the mesh network.

22 . The attachment assembly of claim 21 , wherein a shape of the spring-loaded crate attachment member matches a shape of at least one of the plurality of openings.

23 . The attachment assembly of claim 21 , wherein a width cross-section of each of the first slider piece and the second slider piece is greatest at an end of each of the first slider piece and the second slider piece located closest to the base member.

24 . The attachment assembly of claim 21 , wherein at least one channel is formed between the spring-loaded crate attachment member and the base member.

The attachment assembly of claim 21 , wherein a first force is applicable to at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece to slide the at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece in a first direction towards the other of the at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece to the insertion position.

26 . The attachment assembly of claim 21 , wherein at least a portion of the spring-loaded crate attachment member is arranged within an internal chamber of the base member.

27 . The attachment assembly of claim 21 , wherein the first slider piece and the second slider piece are each slidable along a plane parallel to the first face.

A method for coupling an attachment device to an animal crate comprising a mesh network comprising a plurality of openings, the attachment device comprising a base member comprising a first face and a spring-loaded crate attachment member coupled to the base member proximate the first face and comprising a first slider piece and a second slider piece, the method comprising:

sliding at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece in a first direction towards the other of the at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece to an insertion position;

inserting the first slider piece and the second slider piece through at least one of the plurality of openings of the mesh network when the at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece are in the insertion position; and

biasing the at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece in a second direction opposite to the first direction from the insertion position to an attached position due to a spring force, wherein the base member is positioned on a first side of the mesh network and at least a portion of each of the first slider piece and the second slider piece is positioned on a second side of the mesh network in the attached position.

29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein a shape of the spring-loaded crate attachment member matches a shape of at least one of the plurality of openings.

30 . The method of claim 28 , further comprising inserting the spring-loaded crate attachment member when the at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece are in the insertion position through at least one of the plurality of openings until the base member abuts the mesh network.

31 . The method of claim 28 , wherein a width cross-section of each of the first slider piece and the second slider piece is greatest at an end of each of the first slider piece and the second slider piece located closest to the base member.

32 . The method of claim 28 , wherein at least one channel is formed between the spring-loaded crate attachment member and the base member.

33 . The method of claim 28 , wherein at least a portion of the spring-loaded crate attachment member is arranged within an internal chamber of the base member.

34 . The method of claim 28 , wherein sliding at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece comprises sliding at least one of the first slider piece or the second slider piece along a plane parallel to the first face.

35 . An attachment device coupleable to an animal crate comprising a mesh network comprising a plurality of openings, the attachment device comprising:

a base member comprising a first face and a plurality of protrusions extending from the base member;

a spring-loaded crate attachment member coupled to the base member proximate the first face and comprising a first slider piece and a second slider piece; wherein the first slider piece and the second slider piece are each coupled to corresponding protrusions of the plurality of protrusions;

an insertion position where the first slider piece and the second slider piece are pressed against the mesh network to insert the first slider piece and the second slider piece through at least one of the plurality of openings; and

an attached position where the base member is positioned on a first side of the mesh network and at least a portion of each of the first slider piece and the second slider piece is positioned on a second side of the mesh network.

36 . The attachment device of claim 35 , wherein a shape of the spring-loaded crate attachment member matches a shape of at least one of the plurality of openings.

37 . The attachment device of claim 35 , wherein a width cross-section of each of the first slider piece and the second slider piece is greatest at an end of each of the first slider piece and the second slider piece located closest to the base member.

38 . The attachment device of claim 35 , wherein at least one channel is formed between each of the first slider piece and the second slider piece and the base member.

39 . The attachment device of claim 35 , wherein the first slider piece and the second slider piece are each slidable along a plane parallel to the first face.

40 . The attachment device of claim 35 , wherein at least a portion of the base member is arranged within an internal chamber of the spring-loaded crate attachment member.
