Abstract

An electronic device including a display unit including a hole area, an active area surrounding the hole area, and a peripheral area adjacent to the active area; a sensing unit disposed on the display unit and including first and second sensing electrodes; a module hole through which the display unit and the sensing unit overlap the hole area; and a crack detection circuit including a crack detection pattern disposed in the hole area and surrounding the module hole, a crack detection line disposed in the peripheral area, and connection lines disposed in the peripheral area and connecting the crack detection pattern and the crack detection line, in which the connection lines and a routing pattern of at least one of the first and second sensing electrodes intersect on a plane.

Claims (40)

1. An electronic device comprising:

a display unit comprising a hole area, an active area surrounding the hole area, and a peripheral area adjacent to the active area;

a sensing unit disposed on the display unit and comprising a first sensing electrode and a second sensing electrode;

a module hole through which the display unit and the sensing unit overlap the hole area; and

a crack detection circuit comprising a crack detection pattern disposed in the hole area and surrounding the module hole, a crack detection line disposed in the peripheral area, and connection lines disposed in the peripheral area and connecting the crack detection pattern and the crack detection line,

wherein at least one of the first or second sensing electrodes comprises:

main patterns disposed in the active area:

neighboring patterns having a shape different from a shape of the main patterns; and

a routing pattern disposed in the peripheral area and connecting the neighboring patterns that are spaced apart with the module hole in between, and wherein the connection lines and the routing pattern intersect on a plane.

2. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the sensing unit comprises first, second, and third sensing insulating layers sequentially stacked on the display unit, and

wherein the main patterns, the neighboring patterns, and the crack detection circuit are disposed on the second sensing insulating layer.

3. The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the routing pattern comprises first parts disposed on the first sensing insulating layer, and second parts connected to the first parts through contact holes defined in the second sensing insulating layer, and

wherein the first parts and the connection lines intersect on a plane.

4. The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the second sensing electrode further comprises connection patterns disposed on the first sensing insulating layer, and

wherein the main patterns spaced apart by the first sensing electrode are connected to the connection patterns through contact holes defined in the second sensing insulating layer.

5. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the crack detection circuit further comprises dummy lines disposed in the active area and connecting the crack detection pattern and the connection lines.

6. The electronic device of claim 5 , wherein the first sensing electrode, the main patterns, the neighboring patterns, and the dummy lines include mesh lines defining mesh openings.

7. The electronic device of claim 6 , wherein the display unit comprises light emitting elements each comprising a first electrode, a second electrode facing the first electrode, and a light emitting layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode, and

13. The electronic device of claim 9 , further comprising an anti-static pattern disposed between the crack detection pattern and the hole pattern in the hole area.

14. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein a direction in which the neighboring patterns of the first or second sensing electrode are arranged and a direction in which the routing pattern extends are the same.

15. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein an area of a neighboring pattern from among the neighboring patterns of the first or second sensing electrode is smaller than an area of a main pattern from among the main patterns of the first or second sensing electrode.

16. The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein a portion of the first sensing electrode disposed between the neighboring patterns of the second sensing electrode connected by the routing pattern is spaced apart from the routing pattern.

17. The electronic device of claim 5 , wherein the crack detection pattern comprises:

a first extension portion disposed along one side of the hole area and one end of the first extension portion is connected to one of the dummy lines;

a second extension portion disposed along another side of the hole area and one end of the second extension portion is connected to another dummy line from among the dummy lines;

a third extension portion surrounding at least a portion of the module hole;

a first connection portion connecting one end of the third extension portion and another end of the first extension portion; and

a second connection portion connecting another end of the third extension portion and another end of the second extension portion.

18. The electronic device of claim 1 , further comprising routing dummy patterns disposed between the crack detection line and the routing pattern, extending in a first direction as a direction in which the routing pattern extends, and spaced apart along a second direction intersecting the first direction.

19. The electronic device of claim 18 , wherein the connection lines intersect the routing dummy patterns, and the connection lines and the routing dummy patterns are disposed on different layers.

20. The electronic device of claim 1 , further comprising a camera module overlapping the module hole.
