Abstract

Wireless communications may use a plurality of cell groups. A wireless device may not perform uplink transmission of channel state information and/or of hybrid automatic repeat request feedback via a second cell group while a time alignment timer associated with a first cell group is not running.

Claims (138)

1 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device, configuration information indicating:

a first time alignment timer value associated with a first cell group; and

a second time alignment timer value associated with a second cell group;

while a time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is running, transmitting, by the wireless device and via the second cell group, a random access preamble; and

while the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is not running:

not performing, by the wireless device, uplink transmission of channel state information (CSI) via the second cell group; and

transmitting, by the wireless device via the second cell group, a second random access preamble.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

while the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is not running, stopping uplink transmission, by the wireless device and via the second cell group, of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first cell group comprises a primary timing advance group (pTAG) and the second cell group comprises a secondary timing advance group (sTAG).

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

based on the time alignment timer not running, flushing one or more hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) buffers of the wireless device.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

while the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is not running, not performing, by the wireless device and via the second cell group, retransmission of one or more prior uplink transmissions by the wireless device.

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

based on the time alignment timer not running, expiring a second time alignment timer associated with the second cell group.

7 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device, configuration information indicating:

a first time alignment timer value associated with a first cell group; and

a second time alignment timer value associated with a second cell group;

performing, by the wireless device, via the second cell group, and while a time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is running, uplink transmission; and

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running:

stopping uplink transmission, by the wireless device and via the second cell group, of channel state information (CSI); and

stopping uplink transmission, by the wireless device and via the second cell group, of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback.

8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the first cell group comprises a primary timing advance group (pTAG) and the second cell group comprises a secondary timing advance group (sTAG).

9 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stopping uplink transmission, by the wireless device and via the second cell group, of data packets.

10 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stopping uplink transmission, by the wireless device and via the second cell group, of data packets by not performing, by the wireless device and via the second cell group, retransmission of one or more prior uplink transmissions of data packets by the wireless device.

11 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stopping uplink transmission, by the wireless device and via the second cell group, of at least one of: hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback or data packets.

12 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stopping uplink transmission, by the wireless device and via the second cell group, of:

hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback; and

data packets.

13 . A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive configuration information indicating:

a first time alignment timer value associated with a first cell group; and

a second time alignment timer value associated with a second cell group;

while a time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is running, transmit, via the second cell group, a random access preamble; and

while the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is not running:

not perform uplink transmission of channel state information (CSI) via the second cell group; and

transmit, via the second cell group, a second random access preamble.

14 . The wireless device of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:

while the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is not running, stop uplink transmission, via the second cell group, of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback.

15 . The wireless device of claim 13 , wherein the first cell group comprises a primary timing advance group (pTAG) and the second cell group comprises a secondary timing advance group (sTAG).

16 . The wireless device of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:

based on the time alignment timer not running, flush one or more hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) buffers of the wireless device.

17 . The wireless device of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:

while the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is not running, not perform, via the second cell group, retransmission of one or more prior uplink transmissions by the wireless device.

18 . The wireless device of claim 13 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:

based on the time alignment timer not running, expire a second time alignment timer associated with the second cell group.

19 . A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive configuration information indicating:

a first time alignment timer value associated with a first cell group; and

a second time alignment timer value associated with a second cell group;

perform, via the second cell group, and while a time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is running, uplink transmission; and

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running:

stop uplink transmission via the second cell group of channel state information (CSI); and

stop uplink transmission via the second cell group of HARQ feedback.

20 . The wireless device of claim 19 , wherein the first cell group comprises a primary timing advance group (pTAG) and the second cell group comprises a secondary timing advance group (sTAG).

21 . The wireless device of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stop uplink transmission via the second cell group of data packets.

22 . The wireless device of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stop uplink transmission via the second cell group of data packets by not performing, via the second cell group, retransmission of one or more prior uplink transmissions of data packets by the wireless device.

23 . The wireless device of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stop uplink transmission, via the second cell group, of at least one of: hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback or data packets.

24 . The wireless device of claim 19 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stop uplink transmission via the second cell group, of:

hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback; and

data packets.

25 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, configure a wireless device to:

receive configuration information indicating:

a first time alignment timer value associated with a first cell group; and

a second time alignment timer value associated with a second cell group;

while a time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is running, transmit, via the second cell group, a random access preamble; and

while the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is not running:

not perform uplink transmission of channel state information (CSI) via the second cell group; and

transmit, via the second cell group, a second random access preamble.

26 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 25 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the wireless device to:

while the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is not running, stop uplink transmission, via the second cell group, of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback.

27 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 25 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the wireless device to:

while the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is not running, not perform, via the second cell group, retransmission of one or more prior uplink transmissions by the wireless device.

28 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 25 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the wireless device to:

based on the time alignment timer not running, expire a second time alignment timer associated with the second cell group.

29 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, configure a wireless device to:

receive configuration information indicating:

a first time alignment timer value associated with a first cell group; and

a second time alignment timer value associated with a second cell group;

perform, via the second cell group, and while a time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is running, uplink transmission; and

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running:

stop uplink transmission via the second cell group of channel state information (CSI); and

stop uplink transmission via the second cell group of HARQ feedback.

30 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 29 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the wireless device to:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stop uplink transmission via the second cell group of data packets.

31 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 29 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the wireless device to:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stop uplink transmission via the second cell group of data packets by not performing, via the second cell group, retransmission of one or more prior uplink transmissions of data packets by the wireless device.

32 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 29 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further configure the wireless device to:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stop uplink transmission via the second cell group, of:

hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback; and

data packets.

33 . A system comprising:

one or more base stations configured to transmit configuration information indicating:

a first time alignment timer value associated with a first cell group; and

a second time alignment timer value associated with a second cell group; and

a wireless device configured to:

receive the configuration information;

while a time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is running, transmit, via the second cell group, a random access preamble; and

while the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is not running:

not perform uplink transmission of channel state information (CSI) via the second cell group; and

transmit, via the second cell group, a second random access preamble.

34 . The system of claim 33 , wherein the wireless device is further configured to:

while the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is not running, stop uplink transmission, via the second cell group, of hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback.

35 . The system of claim 33 , wherein the wireless device is further configured to:

while the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is not running, not perform, via the second cell group, retransmission of one or more prior uplink transmissions by the wireless device.

36 . A system comprising:

one or more base stations configured to transmit configuration information indicating:

a first time alignment timer value associated with a first cell group; and

a second time alignment timer value associated with a second cell group; and

a wireless device configured to:

receive the configuration information;

perform, via the second cell group, and while a time alignment timer associated with the first cell group is running, uplink transmission; and

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running:

stop uplink transmission via the second cell group of channel state information (CSI); and

stop uplink transmission via the second cell group of HARQ feedback.

37 . The system of claim 36 , wherein the wireless device is further configured to:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stop uplink transmission via the second cell group of data packets.

38 . The system of claim 36 , wherein the wireless device is further configured to:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stop uplink transmission via the second cell group of data packets by not performing, via the second cell group, retransmission of one or more prior uplink transmissions of data packets by the wireless device.

39 . The system of claim 36 , wherein the wireless device is further configured to:

based on the time alignment timer associated with the first cell group not running, stop uplink transmission via the second cell group, of:

hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback; and

data packets.
