Abstract

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-storage media, for managing geospatial boundaries. In some implementations, an identification of a user is scanned. Based on the scan, information corresponding to the user is retrieved. The user is then registered using the retrieved information corresponding to the user. Location data is obtained. A determination is made that the user is proximate to a geographic boundary. The location data and at least a portion of the information corresponding to the user is transmitted to an access control system.

Claims (62)

1 - 20 . (canceled)

21 . A system comprising one or more computers and one or more storage devices on which are stored instructions that are operable, when executed by the one or more computers, to cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:

receiving data representing i) a location of a device, ii) an identity of a user, and iii) materials associated with the user;

determining using the location of the device, whether the device is increasing or decreasing distance from a physical location;

in response to determining that the location of the device is decreasing in distance from the physical location, determining, using ii) the identity of the user and iii) the materials associated, whether one or more conditions satisfy a threshold; and

in response to determining whether the one or more conditions satisfy the threshold, causing a) transmission of a message to the device and b) one or more actions to occur at the physical location.

22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the one or more conditions comprise:

whether the materials associated with the user are permitted transport through the physical location.

23 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the one or more conditions comprise:

whether the identity of the user is permitted transport through the physical location.

24 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the one or more conditions comprises:

whether the materials associated with the user require additional inspection prior to transport through the physical location.

25 . The system of claim 21 , comprising:

in response to determining that the one or more conditions satisfy the threshold, causing a) transmission of a message to the device and b) one or more actions to occur at the physical location:

wherein the transmission of the message to the device comprises transmitting an approval message; and

wherein the one or more actions comprises opening a barrier.

26 . The system of claim 21 , comprising:

in response to determining that the one or more conditions does not satisfy the threshold, causing a) transmission of a message to the device and b) one or more actions to occur at the physical location:

wherein the transmission of the message to the device comprises transmitting a denial message; and

wherein the one or more actions comprises maintaining a barrier closed.

27 . The system of claim 21 , comprising:

in response to determining that the one or more conditions does not satisfy the threshold, causing a) transmission of a message to the device and b) one or more actions to occur at the physical location:

wherein the transmission of the message to the device comprises transmitting a stop-for-verification message; and

wherein the one or more actions comprises altering a barrier to route traffic to an inspection station.

28 . The system of claim 21 , wherein determining using i) the location of the device whether the device is increasing or decreasing distance from the physical location comprises:

determining whether the location of the device has moved from a first location boundary to a second location boundary.

29 . One or more computer storage media encoded with instructions that, when executed by one or more computers, cause the one or more computers to perform operations comprising:

receiving data representing i) a location of a device, ii) an identity of a user, and iii) materials associated with the user;

determining using the location of the device, whether the device is increasing or decreasing distance from a physical location;

in response to determining that the location of the device is decreasing in distance from the physical location, determining, using ii) the identity of the user and iii) the materials associated, whether one or more conditions satisfy a threshold; and

in response to determining whether the one or more conditions satisfy the threshold, causing a) transmission of a message to the device and b) one or more actions to occur at the physical location.

30 . The computer storage media of claim 29 , wherein the one or more conditions comprise:

whether the materials associated with the user are permitted transport through the physical location.

31 . The computer storage media of claim 29 , wherein the one or more conditions comprise:

whether the identity of the user is permitted transport through the physical location.

32 . The computer storage media of claim 29 , wherein the one or more conditions comprises:

whether the materials associated with the user require additional inspection prior to transport through the physical location.

33 . The computer storage media of claim 29 , comprising:

in response to determining that the one or more conditions satisfy the threshold, causing a) transmission of a message to the device and b) one or more actions to occur at the physical location:

wherein the transmission of the message to the device comprises transmitting an approval message; and

wherein the one or more actions comprises opening a barrier.

34 . The computer storage media of claim 29 , comprising:

in response to determining that the one or more conditions does not satisfy the threshold, causing a) transmission of a message to the device and b) one or more actions to occur at the physical location:

wherein the transmission of the message to the device comprises transmitting a denial message; and

wherein the one or more actions comprises maintaining a barrier closed.

35 . The computer storage media of claim 29 , comprising:

in response to determining that the one or more conditions does not satisfy the threshold, causing a) transmission of a message to the device and b) one or more actions to occur at the physical location:

wherein the transmission of the message to the device comprises transmitting a stop-for-verification message; and

wherein the one or more actions comprises altering a barrier to route traffic to an inspection station.

36 . The computer storage media of claim 29 , wherein determining using i) the location of the device whether the device is increasing or decreasing distance from the physical location comprises:

determining whether the location of the device has moved from a first location boundary to a second location boundary.

37 . A computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving data representing i) a location of a device, ii) an identity of a user, and iii) materials associated with the user;

determining using the location of the device, whether the device is increasing or decreasing distance from a physical location;

in response to determining that the location of the device is decreasing in distance from the physical location, determining, using ii) the identity of the user and iii) the materials associated, whether one or more conditions satisfy a threshold; and

in response to determining whether the one or more conditions satisfy the threshold, causing a) transmission of a message to the device and b) one or more actions to occur at the physical location.

38 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the one or more conditions comprise:

whether the materials associated with the user are permitted transport through the physical location.

39 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the one or more conditions comprise:

whether the identity of the user is permitted transport through the physical location.

40 . The method of claim 37 , wherein the one or more conditions comprises:

whether the materials associated with the user require additional inspection prior to transport through the physical location.
