Abstract

Technology for automatic cross-device meeting authentication. An example method involving initializing, by a mobile computing device, a real-time meeting communication session; receiving information indicative of the mobile computing device being in a physical presence of the first computing device, causing the mobile computing device at the physical location of the first computing device to display a user interface element, which when selected allows the participation of the user in the real-time meeting communication session to continue via the mobile computing device of the user at the physical location of the first computing device, granting control of the real-time meeting communication session to the first computing device from the mobile computing device of the user at the physical location of the first computing device, and allowing the user to participate in the real-time meeting communication session at the physical location of the first computing device upon a user selection of the user interface element.

Claims (40)

1. A computer-implemented method comprising:

initializing, by a mobile computing device, a real-time meeting communication session between a user and one or more other users, wherein a participation of the user in the real-time meeting communication session is to begin via the mobile computing device of the user;

receiving information indicative of the mobile computing device of the user being present at a physical location of a first computing device;

causing the mobile computing device of the user at the physical location of the first computing device to display a user interface element, which when selected allows the participation of the user in the real-time meeting communication session to continue via the first computing device of the user at the physical location of the first computing device;

granting control of the real-time meeting communication session to the first computing device from the mobile computing device of the user at the physical location of the first computing device; and

allowing the user to participate in the real-time meeting communication session at the physical location of the first computing device upon a user selection of the user interface element.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving, from the mobile computing device, an input corresponding to the selection by the user of the user interface element.

The computer-implemented method of claim 2 , wherein the receiving of the input causes the mobile computing device to participate in the real-time meeting communication session and to enable the mobile computing device to control, over an internet connection with a server, a media system coupled with the first computing device.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 3 , wherein the media system comprises a non-smart display, and wherein the first computing device is coupled to the non-smart display.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the mobile computing device comprises at least one of a mobile phone, a tablet computer or a laptop computer.

The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the first computing device is connected to the mobile computing device via a short-range wireless communication network and is connected to a server via a computing network, and wherein the user is associated with a second computing device that is connected to the server and lacks short-range wireless communication connection with the first computing device.

7. The computer-implemented method of claim 6 , wherein the computing network comprises an Internet connection and the short-range wireless communication network comprises a Bluetooth connection.

8. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the user interface element comprises a system tray notification or a pop-up window and presents the mobile computing device with an option to join the real-time meeting communication session.

9. A system comprising:

memory storing a set of instructions;

one or more processors, coupled to the memory, to perform operations comprising:

initializing, by a mobile computing device, a real-time meeting communication session between a user and one or more other users, wherein a participation of the user in the real-time meeting communication session is to begin via the mobile computing device of the user;

receiving information indicative of the mobile computing device of the user being present at a physical location of a first computing device;

causing the mobile computing device of the user at the physical location of the first computing device to display a user interface element, which when selected allows the participation of the user in the real-time meeting communication session to continue via the first computing device of the user at the physical location of the first computing device;

granting control of the real-time meeting communication session to the first computing device from the mobile computing device of the user at the physical location of the first computing device; and

allowing the user to participate in the real-time meeting communication session at the physical location of the first computing device upon a user selection of the user interface element.

10. The system of claim 9 , the operations further comprising:

receiving, from the mobile computing device, an input corresponding to the selection by the user of the user interface element.

The system of claim 10 , wherein the receiving of the input causes the mobile computing device to participate in the real-time meeting communication session and to enable the mobile computing device to control, over an internet connection with a server, a media system coupled with the first computing device.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the media system comprises a non-smart display, and wherein the first computing device is coupled to the non-smart display.

13. The system of claim 9 , wherein the mobile computing device comprises at least one of a mobile phone, a tablet computer or a laptop computer.

14. The system of claim 9 , wherein the first computing device is connected to the mobile computing device via a short-range wireless communication network and is connected to a server via a computing network, and wherein the user is associated with a second computing device that is connected to the server and lacks short-range wireless communication connection with the first computing device.

15. The system of claim 14 , wherein the computing network comprises an Internet connection and the short-range wireless communication network comprises a Bluetooth connection.

16. The system of claim 9 , wherein the user interface element comprises a system tray notification or a pop-up window and presents the mobile computing device with an option to join the real-time meeting communication session.

17. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

initializing, by a mobile computing device, a real-time meeting communication session between a user and one or more other users, wherein a participation of the user in the real-time meeting communication session is to begin via the mobile computing device of the user;

receiving information indicative of the mobile computing device of the user being present at a physical location of a first computing device;

causing the mobile computing device of the user at the physical location of the first computing device to display a user interface element, which when selected allows the participation of the user in the real-time meeting communication session to continue via the first computing device of the user at the physical location of the first computing device;

granting control of the real-time meeting communication session to the first computing device from the mobile computing device of the user at the physical location of the first computing device; and

allowing the user to participate in the real-time meeting communication session at the physical location of the first computing device upon a user selection of the user interface element.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , the operations further comprising:

receiving, from the mobile computing device, an input corresponding to the selection by the user of the user interface element.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the receiving of the input causes the mobile computing device to participate in the real-time meeting communication session and to enable the mobile computing device to control, over an internet connection with a server, a media system coupled with the first computing device.

The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the first computing device is connected to the mobile computing device via a short-range wireless communication network and is connected to a server via a computing network, and wherein the user is associated with a second computing device that is connected to the server and lacks short-range wireless communication connection with the first computing device.
