Abstract

Provided herein are methods, apparatuses, computer program products, and systems for cloud-connected X-Ray computed tomography. One method can include receiving radiograph data that has been at least partially processed locally at a computer coupled with a computed tomography scanner; generating a three-dimensional reconstruction from the radiograph data; breaking the three-dimensional reconstruction into chunks of data selected to match an expected access pattern for data in the three-dimensional reconstruction; compressing the chunks of data to form compressed chunks; storing the compressed chunks on one or more computers communicatively coupled with the computed tomography scanner; producing, on the one or more computers, a compressed and downsampled subset of the three-dimensional reconstruction from a proper subset of the compressed chunks in response to a request to access the three-dimensional reconstruction in a specified view; and sending the compressed and downsampled subset of the three-dimensional reconstruction of the physical object to a target computer.
