Abstract

The present invention relates generally to distributed computing systems, and more specifically, to a computerized system and method that allows for dynamic updating of distributed hardware using reconfigurable data management agents.

Claims (39)

1 . A computer-readable device comprising non-transitory instructions, which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:

generating a first graphical user interface for enabling a user to configure a telemetry data management software agent for monitoring telemetry in a network, the first graphical user interface being one of low-code and no-code;

receiving telemetry data management software agent configuration information via the user's interaction with the first graphical user interface;

converting the telemetry data management software agent configuration information into configuration computer code for configuring a telemetry data management software agent in accordance with the telemetry data management software agent configuration information;

storing the configuration computer code;

generating a second graphical user interface for enabling the user to identity at least one telemetry management agent in the network to which the configuration computer code is to be deployed;

storing data indicating the at least one telemetry management agent to which the configuration computer code is to be deployed; and

transmitting the configuration computer code to a network endpoint that included the at least one telemetry management agent.

2 . The computer-readable code of claim 1 wherein the transmitting the configuration computer code comprises receiving from a network endpoint a query for any new configuration computer code for any telemetry management agent located at that network endpoint, wherein the transmitting the configuration computer code is performed responsive to receiving of the query.

3 . The computer-readable code of claim 1 wherein the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises at least one of a telemetry type to be collected, a data source from which telemetry data is to be collected, a data destination to which telemetry data is to be transmitted, a filter defining particular data to be transmitted by the at least one telemetry management agent, a filter defining a particular data type to be transmitted by the at least one telemetry management agent, a data collection interval for collecting telemetry data, instructions to activate a debug log filter, instructions to deactivate a debug log filter, and instructions to perform an ad hoc telemetry query.

4 . The computer-readable code of claim 1 wherein the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises instructions to store telemetry data at the endpoint and instructions when to transmit the stored telemetry data.

5 . The computer-readable code of claim 1 wherein the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises instructions to conduct synthetic user testing.

6 . The computer-readable code of claim 1 wherein the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises instructions to turn on a profiler.

7 . The computer-readable code of claim 1 wherein the operations further comprise:

validating the telemetry data management software agent configuration information input by the user.

8 . The computer-readable code of claim 7 wherein the operation of validating the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises confirming that all data entered by the user conforms to expected data types.

9 . A method of dynamically reconfiguring telemetry data management software agents deployed at endpoints in a communication network, the method comprising:

generating a first graphical user interface for enabling a user to configure a telemetry data management software agent for monitoring telemetry in a network, the first graphical user interface being one of low-code and no-code;

receiving telemetry data management software agent configuration information via the user's interaction with the first graphical user interface;

converting the telemetry data management software agent configuration information into configuration computer code for configuring a telemetry data management software agent in accordance with the telemetry data management software agent configuration information;

storing the configuration computer code;

generating a second graphical user interface for enabling the user to identity at least one telemetry management agent in the network to which the configuration computer code is to be deployed;

storing data indicating the at least one telemetry management agent to which the configuration computer code is to be deployed; and

transmitting the configuration computer code to a network endpoint that included the at least one telemetry management agent.

10 . The method of claim 9 wherein the transmitting the configuration computer code comprises receiving from a network endpoint a query for any new configuration computer code for any telemetry management agent located at that network endpoint, wherein the transmitting the configuration computer code is performed responsive to receiving of the query.

11 . The method of claim 9 wherein the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises at least one of a telemetry type to be collected, a data source from which telemetry data is to be collected, a data destination to which telemetry data is to be transmitted, a filter defining particular data to be transmitted by the at least one telemetry management agent, a filter defining a particular data type to be transmitted by the at least one telemetry management agent, a data collection interval for collecting telemetry data, instructions to activate a debug log filter, instructions to deactivate a debug log filter, and instructions to perform an ad hoc telemetry query.

12 . The method of claim 9 wherein the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises instructions to store telemetry data at the endpoint and instructions when to transmit the stored telemetry data.

13 . The method of claim 9 wherein the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises instructions to conduct synthetic user testing.

14 . The method of claim 9 wherein the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises instructions to turn on a profiler.

15 . The method of claim 9 further comprising:

validating the telemetry data management software agent configuration information input by the user.

16 . The method of claim 15 wherein validating the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises confirming that all data entered by the user conforms to expected data types.

17 . A computer-readable device comprising non-transitory instructions, which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:

transmitting a query for any new configuration computer code for a telemetry management agent;

receiving, responsive to the query, a configuration file for reconfiguring the telemetry management agent; and

reconfiguring the telemetry management agent in accordance with the received configuration file.

18 . The computer-readable code of claim 17 wherein the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises at least one of a telemetry type to be collected, a data source from which telemetry data is to be collected, a data destination to which telemetry data is to be transmitted, a filter defining particular data to be transmitted by the at least one telemetry management agent, a filter defining a particular data type to be transmitted by the at least one telemetry management agent, a data collection interval for collecting telemetry data, instructions to activate a debug log filter, instructions to deactivate a debug log filter, and instructions to perform an ad hoc telemetry query.

19 . The computer-readable code of claim 17 wherein the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises instructions to store telemetry data at the endpoint and instructions when to transmit the stored telemetry data.

20 . The computer-readable code of claim 17 wherein the telemetry data management software agent configuration information comprises instructions to conduct synthetic user testing.
