Abstract

An exercise equipment, that includes (a) a frame that includes a vertically wall-mountable beam; (b) one or more brackets for connecting the vertically wall-mountable beam to a wall; (c) an arm that rotatable in relation to the vertically wall-mountable beam and is selectively positionable along the vertically wall-mountable beam; (d) a cable; (e) a resistance source, and (f) a cable transfer unit that is configured to convey the cable through a cable path formed within the frame.

Claims (40)

1 . Exercise equipment, comprising:

a frame;

an arm rotatably coupled, at least via a shoulder, to the frame, wherein the shoulder is rotatable together with the arm with respect to the frame about an axis of rotation;

a cable smoothly conveyed at least partially through the frame, the shoulder, and the arm, wherein at least a segment of the cable coincides with and extends along the axis of rotation of the shoulder; and

a resistance source that is configured to smoothly apply a resistance on the cable while a user pulls the cable away from a part of the frame.

2 . The exercise equipment according to claim 1 , comprising a spool, wherein the resistance source is configured to smoothly rotate the spool.

3 . The exercise equipment according to claim 2 , wherein the spool is a threaded spool.

4 . The exercise equipment according to claim 3 , wherein the spool is a spiral threaded spool.

5 . The exercise equipment according to claim 3 , wherein the cable is configured to form a single layered winding on the threaded spool.

6 . The exercise equipment according to claim 2 , comprising a belt, wherein the resistance source is configured to smoothly rotate the belt, wherein the belt is configured to rotate the spool.

7 . The exercise equipment according to claim 6 , wherein the belt lacks transversal teeth.

8 . The exercise equipment according to claim 6 , wherein the belt comprises one or more longitudinal teeth.

9 . The exercise equipment according to claim 1 , wherein the arm comprises a wrist, and the cable extends from the wrist.

10 . The exercise equipment according to claim 9 , wherein the cable passes through a pair of sheaves positioned within the wrist.

11 . The exercise equipment according to claim 10 , wherein a distance between the pair of sheaves is smaller than a diameter of the cable.

12 . The exercise equipment according to claim 1 , comprising sheaves, wherein the sheaves comprise grooves for receiving the cable.

13 . The exercise equipment according to claim 12 , wherein the sheaves prevent the cable from exiting a cable path.

14 . The exercise equipment according to claim 1 , comprising a cable conduit, and a group of sheaves, the group of sheaves comprises a first sheave, a second sheave, a third sheave, and a first arm sheave that follows a rotation of the arm of the exercise equipment with respect to the frame.

15 . The exercise equipment according to claim 14 , wherein the cable, when passing through the cable conduit, contacts a front portion and a top portion of a groove of the first sheave, contacts a rear portion and a top portion of a groove of the second sheave, contacts a left portion and a bottom portion of a groove of the third sheave, contacts a bottom portion and a right portion of a groove of the first arm sheave.

16 . The exercise equipment according to claim 14 , wherein the first sheave and the second sheave are oriented by an acute angle to one or more other sheaves of the group of sheaves.

17 . The exercise equipment according to claim 14 , wherein different sheaves of the group of sheaves are spaced apart from each other.

18 . The exercise equipment according to claim 14 , wherein different sheaves of the group of sheaves are accessible from multiple directions.

19 . The exercise equipment according to claim 14 , wherein grooves of different sheaves of the group of sheaves are not shielded.

20 . The exercise equipment according to claim 14 , wherein the cable contacts up to one third of any of the grooves of the group of sheaves.

21 . The exercise equipment according to claim 1 , wherein the resistance source comprises an electronically-adjustable weight resistance motor.

22 . The exercise equipment according to claim 1 , comprising one or more vertical sheaves.

23 . The exercise equipment according to claim 1 , wherein the cable passes over a first sheave and a second sheave, at least one of the first sheave and the second sheave being positioned within the shoulder, wherein the segment of the cable extends between the first sheave and the second sheave.

24 . The exercise equipment according to claim 1 , wherein the arm is selectively positionable along the frame.

25 . The exercise equipment according to claim 1 , wherein the resistance source comprises an electronically-adjustable weight resistance motor, wherein the electronically-adjustable weight resistance motor exhibits a cogging less than 0.04 NM.

26 . The exercise equipment according to claim 1 wherein the resistance source comprises an electronically-adjustable weight resistance motor, wherein the electronically-adjustable weight resistance motor exhibits a ratio of a rotor diameter to number of poles of less than 11 to 1.

27 . The exercise equipment according to claim 1 , wherein the frame comprises a vertically mountable wall beam, and the exercise equipment further comprises one or more brackets for connecting the vertically mountable wall beam to a wall.

28 . A method for operating an exercise equipment, the method comprises:

providing the exercise equipment that comprises

a frame,

an arm rotatably coupled, at least via a shoulder, to the frame, wherein the shoulder is rotatable together with the arm with respect to the frame about an axis of rotation,

a cable smoothly conveyed at least partially through the frame, the shoulder, and the arm, wherein at least a segment of the cable coincides with and extends along the axis of rotation of the shoulder, and

a resistance source that is configured to smoothly apply a resistance on the cable while a user pulls the cable away from a part of the frame;

obtaining information regarding a resistance to be applied on the cable;

smoothly applying, by the resistance source, the resistance on the cable while a user pulls the cable away from a part of the frame of the exercise equipment; and

smoothly conveying the cable, using one or more sheaves, at least partially through the frame, the shoulder, and the arm of the exercise equipment.
