Abstract

The subject personalized consumer advertising/ad placement system provides the ability for advertisers, ad agencies, and any other applicable organization to determine and electronically present their “ideal” consumer profile and have their advertisement/promotion placed in front of all consumers who match the profile based on the anonymous mining of the consumers actual spending across a broad base of spending categories.

Claims (51)

1. A method of delivering a targeted advertisement to an interface of a computing device, comprising:

receiving financial transaction data, wherein the financial transaction data is associated with a consumer identification, and wherein the consumer identification and the financial transaction data do not contain information that reveals an identity of a consumer linked to the consumer identification;

creating an advertisement delivery identification and associating the advertisement delivery identification with the consumer identification;

associating the advertisement delivery identification with a unique identifier associated with a computing device;

receiving one or more criteria for recipients of a targeted advertisement, wherein the one or more criteria includes one or more desired indicators associated with a recipient of the targeted advertisement, wherein the one or more criteria includes a weight assigned to the one or more desired indicators;

identifying, via at least one of the advertisement delivery identification or consumer identification, a recipient of the targeted advertisement by matching the financial transaction data with the one or more criteria;

delivering the targeted advertisement to the interface of the computing device associated with the at least one of the advertisement delivery identification or consumer identification upon detection of the unique identifier;

monitoring a click activity while the delivered targeted advertisement is displayed on the interface of the computing device; and

upon determining that the monitored delivered targeted advertisement has been clicked via the interface of the computing device, recording the click activity based on the monitored delivered targeted advertisement.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the unique identifier comprises a cookie.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the cookie includes the advertisement delivery identification.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the unique identifier is stored on the computing device.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

detecting the unique identifier associated with the computing device.

6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising:

determining that the unique identifier is associated with the at least one of the advertisement delivery identification or consumer identification identified as a recipient of the targeted advertisement.

7. The method of claim 6 , wherein the unique identifier is a file stored on the computing device.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the advertisement delivery identification is unique to a consumer linked to the consumer identification.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving anonymous information, wherein the anonymous information is associated with the consumer identification.

10. The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

identifying, via the at least one of the advertisement delivery identification or consumer identification, the recipient of the targeted advertisement by matching the anonymous information with the one or more criteria.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein the anonymous information includes at least one of zip code, sex, or age.

12. The method of claim 1 , wherein the interface is a secure website operated by a financial institution.

13. The method of claim 1 , wherein the interface is a third-party advertisement presenter's website.

14. The method of claim 1 , wherein the interface is an unsecure website.

15. The method of claim 1 , wherein the advertisement delivery identification and the consumer identification are anonymous codings.

16. The method of claim 1 , wherein the advertisement delivery identification is associated with the unique identifier when a consumer linked to the consumer identification is logged onto a website operated by a financial institution.

17. The method of claim 1 , wherein the consumer identification is an anonymous profile.

18. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

creating a customer profile, wherein the customer profile comprises one or more customer indicators that include information about a consumer linked to the consumer identification inferred from the financial transaction data.

19. A method of delivering a targeted advertisement to an interface of a computing device, comprising:

receiving financial transaction data, wherein the financial transaction data is associated with a consumer identification, and wherein the consumer identification and the financial transaction data do not contain information that personally identifies any consumer linked to the consumer identification;

creating an advertisement delivery identification and associating the advertisement delivery identification with the consumer identification;

associating the advertisement delivery identification with a unique identifier associated with a computing device, wherein the advertisement delivery identification is associated with the unique identifier when a consumer linked to the consumer identification is logged onto a website;

receiving one or more criteria for recipients of a targeted advertisement, wherein the one or more criteria includes one or more desired indicators associated with a recipient of the targeted advertisement, wherein the one or more criteria includes a weight assigned to the one or more desired indicators;

identifying, via at least one of the advertisement delivery identification or consumer identification, a recipient of the targeted advertisement by matching the financial transaction data with the one or more criteria;

detecting the unique identifier associated with the computing device;

determining that the unique identifier is associated with the at least one of the advertisement delivery identification or consumer identification identified as a recipient of the targeted advertisement;

delivering the targeted advertisement to the interface of the computing device associated with the at least one of the advertisement delivery identification or consumer identification;

monitoring a click activity while the delivered targeted advertisement is displayed on the interface of the computing device; and

upon determining that the monitored delivered targeted advertisement has been clicked via the interface of the computing device, recording the click activity based on the monitored delivered targeted advertisement.

20. A method of delivering a targeted advertisement to an interface of a computing device, comprising:

receiving financial transaction data, wherein the financial transaction data is associated with a unique consumer identification code (UCIC), and wherein the UCIC and the financial transaction data do not contain information that personally identifies any consumer linked to the UCIC;

creating an advertisement delivery identification code (ADIC) and associating the ADIC with the UCIC;

associating the ADIC with a unique identifier associated with a computing device;

receiving one or more criteria for recipients of a targeted advertisement, wherein the one or more criteria includes one or more desired indicators associated with a recipient of the targeted advertisement, wherein the one or more criteria includes a weight assigned to the one or more desired indicators;

identifying, via at least one of the ADIC or UCIC, a recipient of the targeted advertisement by matching the financial transaction data with the one or more criteria;

delivering the targeted advertisement to the interface of the computing device associated with the at least one of the ADIC or UCIC upon detection of the unique identifier;

monitoring a click activity while the delivered targeted advertisement is displayed on the interface of the computing device; and

upon determining that the monitored delivered targeted advertisement has been clicked via the interface of the computing device, recording the click activity based on the monitored delivered targeted advertisement.
