Abstract

Provided is a driving circuit for driving a vibration device that vibrates according to a driving signal, the driving circuit including a signal generation circuit that, in operation, generates the driving signal so as to have a driving frequency, and transmits the driving signal to the vibration device, a detection circuit that, in operation, detects vibration information related to a vibration of the vibration device from the vibration device, and a control circuit that, in operation, determines the driving frequency of the driving signal based on the vibration information detected by the detection circuit, and transmits information indicating the driving frequency to the signal generation circuit.

Claims (26)

1 . A driving circuit for driving a vibration device that vibrates according to a driving signal, the driving circuit comprising:

a signal generation circuit that, in operation, generates the driving signal so as to have a driving frequency;

an output circuit that, in operation, converts the driving signal into a first differential signal having a first phase and a second differential signal having a second phase opposite the first phase, outputs the first differential signal to a first terminal of the vibration device, and outputs the second differential signal to a second terminal of the vibration device that is different from the first terminal;

a detection circuit that, in operation, detects vibration information related to a vibration of the vibration device from the vibration device, wherein the vibration information indicates a phase difference between a vibration signal generated according to the vibration of the vibration device and the driving signal; and

a control circuit that, in operation, determines the driving frequency of the driving signal based on the vibration information detected by the detection circuit, and transmits information indicating the driving frequency to the signal generation circuit.

2 . The driving circuit according to claim 1 , wherein the vibration information indicates a vibration frequency at which the vibration device vibrates.

3 . The driving circuit according to claim 2 , wherein the control circuit, in operation, determines the driving frequency such that the driving frequency approaches the vibration frequency.

4 . The driving circuit according to claim 1 , wherein the detection circuit, in operation, detects the vibration information from the vibration device after the signal generation circuit stops transmitting the driving signal to the vibration device.

5 . The driving circuit according to claim 1 , wherein the control circuit, in operation, determines the driving frequency such that the phase difference approaches a predetermined value.

6 . The driving circuit according to claim 1 , wherein the vibration information indicates an amplitude of a vibration signal generated according to the vibration of the vibration device.

7 . The driving circuit according to claim 6 , wherein the control circuit, in operation, determines the driving frequency so as to increase the amplitude.

8 . An electronic apparatus comprising:

a vibration device that, in operation, vibrates according to a driving signal; and

a driving circuit including:

a signal generation circuit that, in operation, generates the driving signal so as to have a driving frequency,

an output circuit that, in operation, converts the driving signal into a first differential signal having a first phase and a second differential signal having a second phase opposite the first phase, outputs the first differential signal to a first terminal of the vibration device, and outputs the second differential signal to a second terminal of the vibration device that is different from the first terminal,

a detection circuit that, in operation, detects vibration information related to a vibration of the vibration device from the vibration device, wherein the vibration information indicates a phase difference between a vibration signal generated according to the vibration of the vibration device and the driving signal, and

a control circuit that, in operation, determines the driving frequency of the driving signal based on the vibration information detected by the detection circuit, and transmits information indicating the driving frequency to the signal generation circuit.

9 . The electronic apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein the electronic apparatus functions as an electronic pen.

10 . A method for driving a vibration device that vibrates according to a driving signal, the method comprising:

generating the driving signal so as to have a driving frequency;

converting the driving signal into a first differential signal having a first phase and a second differential signal having a second phase opposite the first phase;

outputting the first differential signal to a first terminal of the vibration device;

outputting the second differential signal to a second terminal of the vibration device that is different from the first terminal;

detecting vibration information related to a vibration of the vibration device from the vibration device, wherein the vibration information indicates a phase difference between a vibration signal generated according to the vibration of the vibration device and the driving signal; and

determining the driving frequency of the driving signal based on the vibration information.
