The system of claim 1 , wherein, for at least one project, said indication of wall instances with which a given MEP instance, is associated is stored in a record associated with said MEP instance in the project-specific MEP instances library included in the at least one project's project-specific dataset.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein, for the at least one project, said indication of wall instances with which the given MEP instance, is associated is stored in records respectively associated with said wall instances in the project-specific wall instances library included in the at least one project's project-specific dataset.

4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions for factory customization of the given type of factory-made walls for association with the MEP element from among the first plurality of MEP elements is included in metadata characterizing the factory-made walls of the given type, in said general dataset.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the instructions for factory customization of the given type of factory-made walls for association with the MEP element from among the first plurality of MEP elements is included in metadata characterizing the MEP element, in said general dataset.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein metadata included in at least one dataset comprises at least one link to more detailed metadata which is stored externally of the dataset.

7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the more detailed metadata includes instructions for using a machine, such as a cutter, to manufacture a wall layer to accommodate at least one MEP element and wherein the instructions are readable by said machine.

8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the indication of wall instances with which each MEP instance is associated, includes an indication of the MEP instance's position vis a vis the wall instance.

9 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the indication of wall instances with which each MEP instance is associated, includes an indication of a room served by the MEP instance, from among plural rooms defined by said wall instance.

10 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the indication of wall instances with which each MEP instance is associated is provided by an end-user.

11 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the indication of wall instances with which each MEP instance is associated is provided by an external system via an API.

12 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the indication of wall instances with which each MEP instance is associated is derived from a 3D model of a building associated with a given project.

13 . A method for architectural design, the method comprising:

providing system memory including a general dataset including

metadata for each of a first plurality of MEP elements;

metadata characterizing each of at least one type of factory-made walls; and

providing, for each of a second plurality of projects, a project-specific dataset including:

a project-specific MEP instances library storing metadata for all instances of MEP elements for each MEP instance present in an individual project from among said second plurality of projects;

a project-specific wall instances library storing metadata for all instances of walls present in an individual project from among said second plurality of projects, and

providing a hardware processor which provides instructions for factory customization of at least one instance of at least one factory-made wall of at least one type, to accommodate at least one instance of at least one MEP element from among the first plurality of MEP elements,

wherein the metadata for each individual MEP instance included in each project-specific library includes an indication of the MEP element from among said first plurality, to which the individual MEP instance corresponds;
