Abstract

Systems and methods for providing time-delimited action suggestions are provided. In one example embodiment, a method includes receiving, by one or more computing devices from a user device, data indicative of a user-requested time-bound activity. The time-bound activity is associated with a time period. The method includes identifying, by the one or more computing devices, one or more parameters associated with a user that requested the time-bound activity. The method includes determining, by the one or more computing devices, a suggested action based at least in part on the one or more parameters associated with the user and the time period associated with the time-bound activity. The method includes providing, by the one or more computing devices, an output indicative of the suggested action to the user device.

Claims (52)

1. A method implemented by one or more processors, the method comprising:

receiving an indication of a time-bound activity for a user of a vehicle, wherein the time-bound activity is associated with a time period for a navigation activity of the vehicle from a current location to a destination location;

identifying one or more parameters associated with the user, wherein the one or more parameters associated with the user include at least one application parameter of one or more software applications accessible by a computing device of the user of the vehicle;

generating, based on one or more suggested actions that are determined based on the one or more parameters associated with the user and that are determined based on the destination location or one or more locations from the current location to the destination location, output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions; and

causing the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be provided for presentation to the user.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

comparing the time period for the navigation activity to an initial time threshold, wherein generating the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions is in response to determining that the time period for the navigation activity satisfies the initial time threshold.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving data indicative of a user participation level associated with the time-bound activity, wherein the one or more suggested actions are further determined based on the user participation level associated with the time-bound activity.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the user participation level associated with the time-bound activity is based on an activity type associated with the time-bound activity.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the activity type associated with the time-bound activity is one of: a driving activity or a riding activity.

6. The method of claim 1 ,

wherein generating the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions comprises generating audio output indicative of the one or more suggested actions, and

wherein causing the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be provided for presentation to the user comprises causing the audio output indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be audibly rendered for presentation to the user.

7. The method of claim 1 ,

wherein generating the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions comprises generating visual output indicative of the one or more suggested actions, and

wherein causing the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be provided for presentation to the user comprises causing the visual output indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be visually rendered for presentation to the user.

8. A system comprising:

at least one processor; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to be operable to:

receive an indication of a time-bound activity for a user of a vehicle, wherein the time-bound activity is associated with a time period for a navigation activity of the vehicle from a current location to a destination location;

identify one or more parameters associated with the user, wherein the one or more parameters associated with the user include at least one application parameter of one or more software applications accessible by a computing device of the user of the vehicle;

generate, based on one or more suggested actions that are determined based on the one or more parameters associated with the user and that are determined based on the destination location or one or more locations from the current location to the destination location, output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions; and

cause the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be provided for presentation to the user.

9. The system of claim 8 , wherein the at least one processor is further operable to:

compare the time period for the navigation activity to an initial time threshold, wherein generating the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions is in response to determining that the time period for the navigation activity satisfies the initial time threshold.

10. The system of claim 8 , wherein the at least one processor is further operable to:

receive data indicative of a user participation level associated with the time-bound activity, wherein the one or more suggested actions are further determined based on the user participation level associated with the time-bound activity.

11. The system of claim 10 , wherein the user participation level associated with the time-bound activity is based on an activity type associated with the time-bound activity.

12. The system of claim 11 , wherein the activity type associated with the time-bound activity is one of: a driving activity or a riding activity.

13. The system of claim 8 ,

wherein the instructions to generate the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions comprise instructions to generate audio output indicative of the one or more suggested actions, and

wherein the instructions to cause the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be provided for presentation to the user comprise instructions to cause the audio output indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be audibly rendered for presentation to the user.

14. The system of claim 8 ,

wherein the instructions to generate the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions comprise instructions to generate generating visual output indicative of the one or more suggested actions, and

wherein the instructions to cause the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be provided for presentation to the user comprise instructions to cause the visual output indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be visually rendered for presentation to the user.

15. A non-transitory computer-readable storing computer-readable instructions that when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:

receiving an indication of a time-bound activity for a user of a vehicle, wherein the time-bound activity is associated with a time period for a navigation activity of the vehicle from a current location to a destination location;

identifying one or more parameters associated with the user, wherein the one or more parameters associated with the user include at least one application parameter of one or more software applications accessible by a computing device of the user of the vehicle;

generating, based on one or more suggested actions that are determined based on the one or more parameters associated with the user and that are determined based on the destination location or one or more locations from the current location to the destination location, output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions; and

causing the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be provided for presentation to the user.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable storage-medium of claim 15 , the operations further comprising:

comparing the time period for the navigation activity to an initial time threshold, wherein generating the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions is in response to determining that the time period for the navigation activity satisfies the initial time threshold.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable storage-medium of claim 15 , the operations further comprising:

receiving data indicative of a user participation level associated with the time-bound activity, wherein the one or more suggested actions are further determined based on the user participation level associated with the time-bound activity.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable storage-medium of claim 17 , wherein the user participation level associated with the time-bound activity is based on an activity type associated with the time-bound activity, and wherein the activity type associated with the time-bound activity is one of: a driving activity or a riding activity.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable storage-medium of claim 15 ,

wherein generating the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions comprises generating audio output indicative of the one or more suggested actions, and

wherein causing the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be provided for presentation to the user comprises causing the audio output indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be audibly rendered for presentation to the user.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable storage-medium of claim 15 ,

wherein generating the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions comprises generating visual output indicative of the one or more suggested actions, and

wherein causing the output that is indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be provided for presentation to the user comprises causing the visual output indicative of the one or more suggested actions to be visually rendered for presentation to the user.
