Abstract

A core drill includes: a motor having a rotor, which is rotatable relative to a stator about a rotational axis extending in the front-rear direction; a speed-reducing mechanism, which is disposed more forward than the stator; an output shaft, at least a portion of which is disposed more forward than the speed-reducing mechanism and which, in the state in which a core bit is mounted thereon, is rotated by the rotational force of the rotor transmitted via the speed-reducing mechanism; a battery-mounting part, on which a battery pack is mounted; a motor-housing part, which houses the motor; a grip part, at least a portion of which is disposed along the extension of the rotational axis more rearward than the motor-housing part; and a controller, which controls the motor. In the front-rear direction, at least a portion of the controller is disposed between the motor and the grip part.

a speed-reducing mechanism, which is disposed more forward than the stator;

an output shaft, at least a portion of which is disposed more forward than the speed-reducing mechanism and which, in the state in which a core bit is mounted thereon, is rotated by the rotational force of the rotor transmitted via the speed-reducing mechanism;

a battery-mounting part, on which a battery pack is mountable;

a motor-housing part, which houses the motor;

a grip part disposed more rearward than the motor-housing part such that at least a portion of the grip part is intersected by the rotational axis;

a trigger disposed on the grip part; and

at least a first controller configured to control energization of the motor;

wherein:

in the front-rear direction, at least a portion of the first controller is disposed between the motor and the grip part; and

a virtual line that is colinear with the rotational axis intersects the trigger and the first controller.

2. The core drill according to claim 1 , comprising:

a controller-housing part, which is disposed between the motor-housing part and the grip part;

wherein the first controller is housed in the controller-housing part.

3. The core drill according to claim 2 , wherein an air-intake port is defined in the controller-housing part.

4. The core drill according to claim 2 , further comprising:

air-intake ports defined in the controller-housing part and extending perpendicular to the rotational axis, and

air-exhaust ports defined in the motor-housing part and extending perpendicular to the rotational axis,

wherein an intermediate portion of an airflow path inside the motor-housing part extends parallel to the rotational axis.

5. The core drill according to claim 4 , wherein the airflow path further comprises:

a first end portion fluidly connecting the air-intake ports to the intermediate portion of the airflow path, the first end portion extending perpendicular to the rotational axis; and

a second end portion fluidly connecting the intermediate portion to the air-exhaust ports, the second end portion also extending perpendicular to the rotational axis.

6. The core drill according to claim 5 , wherein the first controller comprises a circuit board defining a plane that extends perpendicular to the rotational axis.

7. The core drill according to claim 6 , wherein the air-intake ports extend in parallel to the plane of the circuit board.

8. The core drill according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a second controller;

wherein:

the first controller is housed in the grip part; and

the second controller is disposed between the motor and the grip part.

9. The core drill according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a second controller;

wherein each of the first controller and the second controller is disposed between the motor and the grip part.

10. The core drill according to claim 1 , wherein the first controller includes at least one power FET electrically connected to the motor.

11. The core drill according to claim 1 , wherein the rotational axis is colinear or parallel to the output shaft.

12. A core drill comprising:

a motor comprising a stator and a rotor, which is rotatable relative to the stator about a rotational axis extending in the front-rear direction;

a speed-reducing mechanism, which is disposed more forward than the stator;

an output shaft, at least a portion of which is disposed more forward than the speed-reducing mechanism and which, in the state in which a core bit is mounted thereon, is rotated by the rotational force of the rotor transmitted via the speed-reducing mechanism;

a battery-mounting part, on which a battery pack is mountable;

a motor-housing part, which houses the motor;

a grip part disposed more rearward than the motor-housing part;

a trigger disposed on the grip part; and

a controller configured to control energization of the motor;

wherein:

the controller comprises a circuit board defining a plane that extends parallel to the rotational axis; and

a virtual line that is colinear with the rotational axis intersects the trigger.

13. The core drill according to claim 12 , wherein the controller is disposed downward of the motor.

14. The core drill according to claim 12 , further comprising:

a battery-connection part, which holds the battery-mounting part;

wherein the controller is housed in the battery-connection part.

15. The core drill according to claim 14 , further comprising:

an air-intake port defined in the battery-connection part.

16. The core drill according to claim 12 , wherein at least a portion of the controller is housed in a lower-grip part of the grip part.

17. The core drill according to claim 16 , further comprising:

an air-intake port defined in the lower-grip part.

18. A core drill comprising:
