Abstract

Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for beam (or any other communication resource) failure recovery in wireless communications. A wireless device may determine if only a subset of serving beams have failed, and may perform beam failure recovery using an uplink channel resource for beam failure recovery associated with the failed serving beam(s).

Claims (67)

1 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device, a message that indicates:

a first scheduling request (SR) configuration for beam failure recovery of a first beam, associated with a first reference signal (RS) for beam failure detection, while beam failure of a second beam, associated with a second RS, is not detected; and

a second SR configuration for beam failure recovery of the second beam while beam failure of the first beam is not detected; and

sending, using the first SR configuration, a beam failure recovery request associated with the first beam, wherein the sending the beam failure recovery request is based on a beam failure of the first beam while beam failure of the second beam is not detected.

2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

determining a partial beam failure associated with serving beams of a cell, wherein the partial beam failure is determined based on the beam failure of the first beam while beam failure of the second beam is not detected.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first RS is associated with a first transmission and reception point (TRP) of a cell, and wherein the second RS is associated with a second TRP of the cell.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

receiving a plurality of reference signals (RSs) for beam failure detection of a cell, wherein the plurality of RSs comprise the first RS and the second RS;

after sending the beam failure recovery request, determining, based on measurements of the plurality of RSs not satisfying a threshold, at least one measurement of a candidate beam RS for beam failure recovery of the cell; and

sending, based on the measurements of the plurality of RSs not satisfying the threshold, a random access preamble for beam failure recovery of the cell.

6 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

sending, using the second SR configuration, a second beam failure recovery request associated with the second beam, wherein the sending the second beam failure recovery request is based on a beam failure of the second beam while beam failure of the first beam is not detected.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sending the beam failure recovery request comprises sending, via a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource associated with the second RS, an SR for beam failure recovery associated with the first RS.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the sending the beam failure recovery request is based on:

a first measurement of the first RS not satisfying a threshold; and

a second measurement of the second RS satisfying the threshold.

9 . A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device, a message that indicates:

a first scheduling request (SR) configuration for beam failure recovery of a first beam associated with a first reference signal (RS); and

a second SR configuration for beam failure recovery of a second beam associated with a second RS; and

sending, using the first SR configuration, a beam failure recovery request associated with the first beam, wherein the sending the beam failure recovery request is based on a beam failure of the first beam while beam failure of the second beam is not detected.

10 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

sending, using the second SR configuration, a second beam failure recovery request associated with the second beam, wherein the sending the second beam failure recovery request is based on a beam failure of the second beam while beam failure of the first beam is not detected.

11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the first RS is associated with a first transmission and reception point (TRP) of a cell, and wherein the second RS is associated with a second TRP of the cell.

12 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising:

receiving a plurality of reference signals (RSs) for beam failure detection of a cell, wherein the plurality of RSs comprise the first RS and the second RS;

after sending the beam failure recovery request, determining, based on measurements of the plurality of RSs not satisfying a threshold, at least one measurement of a candidate beam RS for beam failure recovery of the cell; and

sending, based on the measurements of the plurality of RSs not satisfying the threshold, a random access preamble for beam failure recovery of the cell.

13 . The method of claim 9 , wherein the sending the beam failure recovery request is based on:

a first measurement of the first RS not satisfying a threshold; and

a second measurement of the second RS satisfying the threshold.

14 . A method comprising:

sending, by a base station, a message that indicates:

a first scheduling request (SR) configuration for beam failure recovery of a first beam, associated with a first reference signal (RS) for beam failure detection, while beam failure of a second beam, associated with a second RS, is not detected; and

a second SR configuration for beam failure recovery of the second beam while beam failure of the first beam is not detected; and

receiving, using the first SR configuration, a beam failure recovery request associated with the first beam, wherein the beam failure recovery request is based on a beam failure of the first beam while beam failure of the second beam is not detected.

15 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising:

determining, based on the beam failure recovery request, a partial beam failure associated with serving beams of a cell.

16 . The method of claim 14 , wherein the first RS is associated with a first transmission and reception point (TRP) of a cell, and wherein the second RS is associated with a second TRP of the cell.
