Abstract

In one embodiment, a wearable electronic apparatus for a user can include at least a first wireless communication component, an output device configured to present a message, a microphone configured to receive a voice input from the user, the voice input being at least in view of the message being presented, and a controller configured to execute computer program code, including at least code for (i) analyzing the voice input received from the user, (ii) determining an apparatus-control output based on the analyzed voice input, (iii) capturing, via the microphone, audio data pertaining to spoken words from the user, (iv) evaluating a physical condition of the user from the audio data, (v) determining whether another person should be alerted of the physical condition of the user, and (vi) alerting the another person based on the determining.

Claims (14)

1 . A wearable electronic apparatus for a user comprising:

a first wireless communication component configured to wirelessly communicate with a plurality of electronic devices, each electronic device associated with a corresponding apparatus of a dwelling of the user, wherein the first wireless communication component is configured to receive a message from a first electronic device associated with a corresponding first apparatus of the dwelling of the user;

an output device configured to present the message;

a microphone configured to receive a voice input from the user, the voice input being at least in view of the message being presented, with the voice input including more than one word regarding the corresponding first apparatus at least for changing an operational status of the corresponding first apparatus;

a memory storing at least voice-recognition software code configured to analyze the voice input; and

a controller configured to execute computer program code, the computer program code including at least:

computer program code for analyzing the voice input received from the user;

computer program code for determining an apparatus-control output based on the analyzed voice input;

computer program code for directly transmitting the apparatus-control output via the first wireless communication component to the first electronic device associated with the corresponding first apparatus, with the apparatus-control output requesting to change the operational status of the corresponding first apparatus;

computer program code for capturing, via the microphone, audio data pertaining to spoken words from the user;

computer program code for evaluating a physical condition of the user from the audio data;

computer program code for determining whether another person should be alerted of the physical condition of the user; and

computer program code for alerting the another person if the computer program for determining determines that the another person should be alerted of the physical condition of the user.

2 . A wearable electronic apparatus as recited in claim 1 , wherein the computer program code for evaluating a physical condition of the user from the audio data uses at least machine learning.
