Sport board rack for power boat
A sport board rack for improving the stowage of one or more boards on a power boat or other watercraft. The sport board rack can include one or more telescoping arms that can pivot independently relative to each other. Each of the telescoping arms can include a claw that can be extended and retracted to secure a board between the claw and two seats of the sport board rack. The claw can be rotated open to ease insertion of a board onto the two seats and rotated closed to secure the board between the claw and two seats when retracted.
1 . A board rack couplable to a power boat to removably secure watersports equipment including boards for storage proximate the power boat, the board rack comprising:
a base;
first seats;
a first arm configured to cooperate with the first seats to removably secure a portion of a first board within the board rack, wherein the first arm and the first seats pivot with respect to the base to change an angle of the first board with respect to the power boat when the portion of the first board is secured within the board rack;
second seats; and
a second arm configured to cooperate with the second seats to removably secure a portion of a second board within the board rack, wherein the second arm and the second seats pivot with respect to the base to change an angle of the second board with respect to the power boat when the portion of the second board is secured within the board rack,
wherein the first arm and the first seats pivot separately from the second arm and the second seats.
2 . The board rack of claim 1 , wherein the base couples to a tower of the power boat and the first board is one of a wakeboard, a foil board and a surfboard, and the second board is one of a wakeboard, a foil board and a surfboard.
3 . The board rack of claim 1 , wherein the first seats include a deformable material that contacts the first board and the second seats include the deformable material that contacts the second board.
4 . The board rack of claim 3 , wherein the deformable material comprises a polymer.
5 . The board rack of claim 1 , wherein the first arm comprises a first hook, the first hook configured to cooperate with the first seats to secure the first board between the first hook and the first seats.
6 . The board rack of claim 5 , wherein the first hook is configured to rotate between an open configuration to facilitate placing the first board on the first seats and a closed configuration to facilitate securing the first board between the first hook and the first seats.
7 . The board rack of claim 1 , wherein the second arm comprises a second hook, the second hook configured to cooperate with the second seats to secure the second board between the second hook and the second seats.
8 . The board rack of claim 1 , wherein the first arm and the second arm are configured to separately telescope between an extended position and a retracted position.
9 . The board rack of claim 6 , further comprising a first lever and a second lever, the first lever configured to releasably lock the first arm and the first seats in a first position of rotation, and the second lever configured to releasably lock the second arm and the second seats in a second position of rotation.
10 . A board rack couplable to a power boat and configured to removably secure sports equipment including a board for storage on the power boat, the board rack comprising:
a base couplable to a tower of a power boat;
seats comprising an approximate U-shape configured to receive a board usable for powered water sports, the seats including a deformable material proximate the board;
a housing configured to releasably clamp the board with respect to the seats by repositioning of the housing between an extended position and a retracted position;
second seats comprising an approximate U-shape configured to receive a second board usable for powered water sports, the second seats including the deformable material proximate the second board; and
a second housing configured to releasably clamp the second board with respect to the second seats by repositioning of the second housing between a second extended position and a second retracted position,
wherein the seats and the housing are pivotably positionable with respect to the base around a horizontal axis to orient the board in a first position or to orient the board in a second position different from the first position; and
wherein the second seats and the second housing are pivotably positionable with respect to the base around a second horizontal axis to orient the second board in a third position or to orient the second board in a fourth position different from the third position.
11 . The board rack of claim 10 , wherein the seats comprise forks.
12 . The board rack of claim 10 , wherein the second seats comprise forks.
13 . A board rack for a boat, the board rack comprising:
a base;
a first pair of seats configured to receive a first board;
a first arm configured to cooperate with the first pair of seats to secure the first board between the first arm and the first pair of seats;
a second pair of seats configured to receive a second board; and
a second arm configured to cooperate with the second pair of seats to secure the second board between the second arm and the second pair of seats;
wherein the first arm and the first pair of seats are configured to pivot together with respect to the base and separately from the second arm and the second pair of seats.
14 . The board rack of claim 13 , wherein the second pair of seats and the second arm are configured to pivot together with respect to the base.
15 . The board rack of claim 13 , wherein the first pair of seats and the second pair of seats comprise a deformable material.
16 . The board rack of claim 13 , further comprising a first shaft and a second shaft, the first arm and the first pair of seats coupled to the first shaft, and the second arm and the second pair of seats coupled to the second shaft.
17 . The board rack of claim 13 , further comprising a first lever and a second lever, the first lever configured to releasably lock the first arm and the first pair of seats in a first position of rotation, and the second lever configured to releasably lock the second arm and the second pair of seats in a second position of rotation.
18 . The board rack of claim 13 , wherein the first pair of seats and the second pair of seats each comprise an approximate U-shape.
19 . The board rack of claim 13 , wherein the first arm comprises a first hook configured to cooperate with the first pair of seats to secure the first board between the first hook and the first pair of seats, the first hook configured to rotate between an open configuration to facilitate placing the first board on the first pair of seats and a closed configuration to facilitate securing the first board between the first hook and the first pair of seats.
