Abstract

Systems and methods for providing customized camera views of virtualized environments based on touch-based user inputs are provided herein. In one embodiment, a method includes providing a virtual gaming environment on a touch screen display device. The touch screen display device receives a touch-based user input comprising at least one swipe on the touch screen display device to create a customized camera viewing experience of a gameplay event of interest involving a target. During the traveling of a projectile, the touch-based user input is received on the touch screen display device. A customized camera view of the gameplay event of interest is provided based on the touch-based user input. A camera angle of the customized camera view is rotated, corresponding to a direction of the at least one swipe of the touch-based user input.

Claims (30)

1 . A method, comprising:

providing a virtual gaming environment on a touch screen display device, the touch screen display device receiving touch-based user input comprising at least one swipe on the touch screen display device to create a customized camera viewing experience of a gameplay event of interest involving a target, the customized camera viewing experience comprising an entire event from discharging, traveling, and hitting of the target by a projectile;

during the traveling of the projectile, receiving the touch-based user input on the touch screen display device;

providing a customized camera view of the gameplay event of interest based on the touch-based user input; and

rotating a camera angle of the customized camera view corresponding to a direction of the at least one swipe of the touch-based user input.

2 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising rotating the customized camera view around the projectile in a horizontal manner within an interactive graphical user interface displayed on the touch screen display device when the touch-based user input comprises at least one lateral swipe.

3 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising rotating the customized camera view around the projectile in a vertical manner within an interactive graphical user interface displayed on the touch screen display device when the touch-based user input comprises the longitudinal swipe.

4 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising providing customized camera view rotations around the projectile that have both horizontal and vertical components within an interactive graphical user interface displayed on the touch screen display device when the touch-based user input comprises swipes in between lateral and longitudinal.

5 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising automatically capturing screenshots during the customized camera viewing experience.

6 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising placing a path highlight effect into the customized camera view.

7 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising increasing a traversal speed of the projectile towards the target when the touch-based user input is removed.

8 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the customized camera view comprises a camera angle that is provided from the target's perspective.

9 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising imposing a passive tutorial on the customized camera view that instructs the user to swipe to create the customized camera view.

10 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the touch-based user input comprises a two-finger swipe action.

11 . A system, comprising:

a memory for storing executable instructions; and

a processor coupled to the memory, the processor configured to execute the executable instructions to:

provide a virtual gaming environment on a touch screen display device, the touch screen display device receiving touch-based user input comprising at least one swipe on the touch screen display device to create a customized camera viewing experience of a gameplay event of interest involving a target, the customized camera viewing experience comprising an entire event from discharging, traveling, and hitting of the target by a projectile;

during the traveling of the projectile, receive the touch-based user input on the touch screen display device;

provide a customized camera view of the gameplay event of interest based on the touch-based user input; and

rotate a camera angle of the customized camera view corresponding to a direction of the at least one swipe of the touch-based user input.

12 . The system according to claim 11 , wherein the processor configured to execute the executable instructions to rotate the customized camera view around the projectile in a horizontal manner within an interactive graphical user interface displayed on the touch screen display device when the touch-based user input comprises at least one lateral swipe.

13 . The system according to claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute the executable instructions to rotate the customized camera view around the projectile in a vertical manner within an interactive graphical user interface displayed on the touch screen display device when the touch-based user input comprises the longitudinal swipe.

14 . The system according to claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute the executable instructions to provide the customized camera view rotations around the projectile that have both horizontal and vertical components within an interactive graphical user interface displayed on the touch screen display device when the touch-based user input comprises swipes in between lateral and longitudinal.

15 . The system according to claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute the executable instructions to automatically capture screenshots during the customized camera viewing experience.

16 . The system according to claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute the executable instructions to place a path highlight effect into the customized camera view.

17 . The system according to claim 11 , wherein if the touch-based user input is removed, the projectile increases its traversal speed towards the target.

18 . The system according to claim 11 , wherein the customized camera view comprises a camera angle that is provided from the target's perspective.

19 . The system according to claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to execute the executable instructions to impose a passive tutorial on the customized camera view that instructs the user to swipe to create the customized camera view.

20 . The system according to claim 11 , wherein the touch-based user input comprises a two-finger swipe action.
