Abstract

The operation of one or more cash handling devices may be remotely modified by updating locally stored cash dispensing data at each of the one or more cash handling devices based at least in part on optimization data generated at a monitoring server. Operational data is received from the one or more cash handling devices and utilized to generate historical data within a historical database. Optimization parameters are received for each of one or more cash handling devices, and the optimization parameters are utilized together with the generated historical data to generate optimization data utilizing one or more optimization models. The optimization data is transmitted to applicable cash handling devices to cause the cash handling device to update locally stored executing instructions causing operation of the cash handling device to dispense cash into one or more register tills.

Claims (36)

1 . A system for generating executable instructions for storage and execution by a cash handling device, the system comprising one or more memory storage areas and one or more processors collectively configured to:

receive, by the one or more processors, operational data for a cash handling device, wherein the operational data for the cash handling device comprises one or more register till identifiers and register till usage data for one or more register tills associated with the cash handling device, and the operational data identifies the cash handling device, wherein the register till usage data reflects exchange transactions between the cash handling device and a register till associated with a register till identifier;

generate, within the one or more memory storage areas, historical data based at least in part on the operational data, wherein the historical data identifies till usage data associated with one or more register till identifiers over time;

receive, by the one or more processors, parameters applicable to one or more register tills;

generate, by the one or more processors and based at least in part on the parameters and the historical data, optimization data associated with one or more register till identifiers; and

transmit, by the one or more processors, at least a portion of the optimization data to the cash handling device, wherein the optimization data causes the cash handling device to update locally stored executable instructions to implement the optimization data during cash dispensing processes for one or more register tills.

2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein receiving the parameters comprises receiving user input identifying the parameters applicable to one or more register tills.

3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein receiving the parameters comprises receiving parameters associated with one or more register till identifiers to optimize cash distributions generated in association with the one or more register till identifiers.

4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein receiving the parameters associated with one or more register till identifiers comprises receiving parameters associated with a register group identifier, and wherein the register group identifier is associated with a plurality of register till identifiers.

5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein generating optimization data associated with one or more register till identifiers comprises generating optimization data associated with at least one cash denomination and associated with at least one time period.

6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the optimization data is associated with a cash handling device identifier, and wherein the optimization data further causes the cash handling device to move cash stored within the cash handling device into a deposit cassette.

7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein at least two of the parameters are interrelated.

8 . A computer-implemented method for generating executable instructions for storage and execution by a cash handling device, the computer-implemented method comprising:

receiving, by one or more processors, operational data for a cash handling device, wherein the operational data for the cash handling device comprises one or more register till identifiers and register till usage data for one or more register tills associated with the cash handling device, and the operational data identifies the cash handling device, wherein the register till usage data reflects exchange transactions between the cash handling device and a register till associated with a register till identifier;

generating, within one or more memory storage areas, historical data based at least in part on the operational data, wherein the historical data identifies till usage data associated with one or more register till identifiers over time;

receiving, by the one or more processors, parameters applicable to one or more register tills;

generating, by the one or more processors and based at least in part on the parameters and the historical data, optimization data associated with one or more register till identifiers; and

transmitting, by the one or more processors, at least a portion of the optimization data to the cash handling device, wherein the optimization data causes the cash handling device to update locally stored executable instructions to implement the optimization data during cash dispensing processes for one or more register tills.

9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein receiving the parameters comprises receiving user input identifying the parameters applicable to one or more register tills.

10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein receiving the parameters comprises receiving parameters associated with one or more register till identifiers to optimize cash distributions generated in association with the one or more register till identifiers.

11 . The computer-implemented method of claim 10 , wherein receiving the parameters associated with one or more register till identifiers comprises receiving parameters associated with a register group identifier, and wherein the register group identifier is associated with a plurality of register till identifiers.

12 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein generating optimization data associated with one or more register till identifiers comprises generating optimization data associated with at least one cash denomination and associated with at least one time period.

13 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein at least a portion of the optimization data is associated with a cash handling device identifier, and wherein the optimization data further causes the cash handling device to move cash stored within the cash handling device into a deposit cassette.

14 . The computer-implemented method of claim 8 , wherein at least two of the parameters are interrelated.

15 . A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer readable medium having computer program instructions stored therein, the computer program instructions when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:

receive operational data for a cash handling device, wherein the operational data for the cash handling device comprises one or more register till identifiers and register till usage data for one or more register tills associated with the cash handling device, and the operational data identifies the cash handling device, wherein the register till usage data reflects exchange transactions between the cash handling device and a register till associated with a register till identifier;

generate historical data based at least in part on the operational data, wherein the historical data identifies till usage data associated with one or more register till identifiers over time;

receive parameters applicable to one or more register tills;

generate, based at least in part on the parameters and the historical data, optimization data associated with one or more register till identifiers; and

transmit at least a portion of the optimization data to the cash handling device, wherein the optimization data causes the cash handling device to update locally stored executable instructions to implement the optimization data during cash dispensing processes for one or more register tills.

16 . The computer program product of claim 15 , wherein receiving the parameters comprises receiving user input identifying the parameters applicable to one or more register tills.

17 . The computer program product of claim 15 , wherein receiving the parameters comprises receiving parameters associated with one or more register till identifiers to optimize cash distributions generated in association with the one or more register till identifiers.

18 . The computer program product of claim 17 , wherein receiving the parameters associated with one or more register till identifiers comprises receiving parameters associated with a register group identifier, and wherein the register group identifier is associated with a plurality of register till identifiers.
