The present invention is related to a compound represented by the following structural formula: The present invention is also related a method of treating a subject with a disease which can be ameliorated by inhibition of aminocarboxymuconate semialdehyde decarboxylase (ACMSD).
1 . A method of treating kidney disease in a subject comprising administering to the subject in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of structural formula
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the kidney disease is acute kidney injury.
3 . A method of treating kidney disease in a subject comprising administering to the subject in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of structural formula
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.
4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the kidney disease is acute kidney injury.
5 . A method of treating liver disease in a subject comprising administering to the subject in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of structural formula
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the liver disease is non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
7 . A method of treating liver disease in a subject comprising administering to the subject in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of structural formula
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.
8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the liver disease is non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
9 . A compound of structural formula
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
10 . A pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound of claim 9 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.
11 . A method of treating kidney disease in a subject comprising administering to the subject in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of claim 9 .
12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the kidney disease is acute kidney injury.
13 . A method of treating kidney disease in a subject comprising administering to the subject in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition of claim 10 .
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the kidney disease is acute kidney injury.
15 . A method of treating liver disease in a subject comprising administering to the subject in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of claim 9 .
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the liver disease is non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
17 . A method of treating liver disease in a subject comprising administering to the subject in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition of claim 10 .
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the liver disease is non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
