Abstract

A method for providing a dynamically-updated electronic report of assets available for transaction to a user is provided. The electronic report is provided to a computing device operated by the user. The electronic report includes one or more entries that each corresponds to an asset for sale. Each entry can include a link for the corresponding asset. In response to receiving user selection of a link on the report, one or more characteristics of the asset corresponding to the selected link are determined. One or more additional assets are determined based on the one or more characteristics. The electronic report is dynamically updated to include one or more entries corresponding to the one or more additional assets. A user profile of the user can also be updated in response to the user's selection.

Claims (41)

1 . A computer system comprising:

a memory to store a set of instructions;

one or more processors that execute the set of instructions, to perform operations that include:

determining a geographic region of interest of a user;

determining a plurality of assets that are located within the geographic region and scheduled for a live auction, each asset of the plurality of assets being associated with corresponding asset information, the corresponding asset information indicating each of an auction status and a bid;

generating an interactive electronic report of assets for the live auction, the electronic report including the corresponding asset information of each asset of the plurality of assets;

based on user interaction with the interactive electronic report, identifying a first asset of interest for the user;

providing, for a displayed interface of a computing device of the user, the corresponding asset information associated with each asset of the plurality of assets, including the first asset; and

periodically communicating with an asset database, to dynamically update to displayed interface of the computing device of the user with the corresponding asset information of one or more of the plurality of assets, including the first asset.

2 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the displayed interface includes a plurality of entries, each entry representing one of the plurality of assets, and wherein each entry includes a visual cue that is based on the corresponding asset information of the represented asset.

3 . The computer system of claim 2 , wherein the visual cue of an entry represents an auction state of the asset represented by the entry.

4 . The computer system of claim 3 , wherein the visual cue includes one of a color, texture or shading.

5 . The computer system of claim 2 , wherein the displayed interface is dynamically updated based on one or more updates to the corresponding asset information of assets represented by entries of the displayed interface.

6 . The computer system of claim 5 , wherein the displayed interface is a matrix interface that visually distinguishes each of multiple entries, based at least in part on the updated corresponding asset information of the represented asset of each of the multiple entries.

7 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein determining the geographic region of interest for the user includes determining a location of the user, the location being different than a location of the live auction.

8 . The computer system of claim 7 , wherein the user is a participant of the live auction.

9 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein periodically communicating to dynamically update the displayed interface is performed during the live auction.

10 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein periodically communicating to dynamically update the displayed interface is performed more frequently on a day of or during the live auction, as compared to one or more days before the live auction.

11 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the operations further comprise:

maintaining an asset information database, the asset database including a plurality of records, each record including the corresponding asset information for an asset that is scheduled to be auctioned at the live auction; and

wherein generating the interactive electronic report is based on the corresponding asset information of a select set of records of the asset information database.

12 . The computer system of claim 11 , wherein the operations further comprise:

communicating, over one or more networks, with one or more listing sources, to determine and update the asset information associated with each asset that is scheduled to be auctioned.

13 . A computer-implemented method, performed by one or more processors, the method comprising:

determining a geographic region of interest of a user;

determining a plurality of assets that are located within the geographic region and scheduled for a live auction, each asset of the plurality of assets being associated with corresponding asset information, the corresponding asset information indicating each of an auction status and a bid;

generating an interactive electronic report of assets for the live auction, the electronic report including the corresponding asset information of each asset of the plurality of assets;

based on user interaction with the interactive electronic report, identifying a first asset of interest for the user;

providing, for a displayed interface of a computing device of the user, the corresponding asset information associated with each asset of the plurality of assets, including the first asset; and

periodically communicating with an asset database, to dynamically update the displayed interface of the computing device of the user with the corresponding asset information of one or more of the plurality of assets, including the first asset.

14 . The computer-implemented method of claim 13 , wherein the displayed interface includes a plurality of entries, each entry representing one of the plurality of assets, and wherein the method includes providing each entry with a visual cue that is based on the corresponding asset information of the represented asset.

15 . The computer-implemented method of claim 14 , wherein the visual cue of an entry represents an auction state of the asset represented by the entry.

16 . The computer-implemented method of claim 15 , wherein the visual cue includes one of a color, texture or shading.

17 . The computer-implemented method of claim 13 , wherein the displayed interface is a matrix interface that visually distinguishes each of multiple entries, based at least in part on the updated corresponding asset information of the represented asset of each of the multiple entries; and

wherein the method includes dynamically updating the matrix interface based on one or more updates to the corresponding asset information of assets represented by entries of the matrix interface.

18 . The computer-implemented method of claim 13 , wherein determining the geographic region of interest for the user includes determining a location of the user, the location being different than a location of the live auction, wherein the user is a participant of the live auction, and wherein the step of periodically updating is performed during the live auction.

19 . The computer-implemented method of claim 13 , further comprising:

maintaining an asset information database, the asset information database including a plurality of records, each record including the corresponding asset for an asset that is scheduled to be auctioned at the live auction; and

wherein generating the interactive electronic report is based on the corresponding asset information of a select set of records of the asset information database.

20 . The computer-implemented method of claim 19 , further comprising:

communicating, over one or more networks, with one or more listing sources, to determine and update the asset information associated with each asset that is scheduled to be auctioned.
