Abstract

Systems and methods for vehicle location and searching perform and/or comprise presenting a time-varying code on a display device located within a facility; upon execution of the code by a user device: recording a device identifier of the user device, directing the user device to a vehicle search interface, wherein the vehicle search interface includes a search form for receiving a vehicle search query, the vehicle search query including a vehicle identifier, in response to the vehicle search query, presenting at least one search result via the vehicle search interface.

Claims (38)

1 . A vehicle location method, comprising:

presenting a time-varying code on a display device located within a facility;

upon execution of the code by a user device:

recording a device identifier of the user device,

directing the user device to a vehicle search interface, wherein the vehicle search interface includes a search form for receiving a vehicle search query, the vehicle search query including a vehicle identifier,

in response to the vehicle search query, presenting at least one search result via the vehicle search interface.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the time-varying code is at least one of a barcode, a QR code, a RSA code, a token or a one-time password.

The method of claim 1 , wherein the device identifier is at least one of a Device ID of the user device, an Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) of the user device, a Google Advertising ID (GAID) of the user device, an International Mobile Equipment (IMEI) number of the user device, an Electronic Serial Number (ESN) of the user device, an Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud generated identifier of the user device, a media access control (MAC) address of the user device, an internet protocol (IP) address of the user device, a Unique Device Identifier (UDID) of the user device, or a universally unique identifier (UUID) of the user device.

4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

in response to the vehicle search query, incrementing a query counter corresponding to the user device; and

in response to a determination that the query counter exceeds a threshold, generating an alert notification to an operator of the facility or another authorized party.

5 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

in response to the vehicle search query, determining whether another user device with a different device identifier has previously performed a search using the vehicle identifier; and

in response to a determination that the other user device has previously performed the search, generating an alert notification to an operator of the facility or another authorized party.

6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the time-varying code is based on a location within the facility.

7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the vehicle identifier is at least one of a vehicle make, a vehicle model, a license plate region, a license plate character or string of characters, a time of entry, a facility level, a parking orientation, or a ticket number.

8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the display device is one of a plurality of display devices and wherein the time-varying code is unique to the display device.

9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the operation of directing the user device to the vehicle search interface includes causing the user device to launch a web browser interface.

10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the operation of directing the user device to the vehicle search interface includes causing the user device to launch a vehicle search application.

11 . A vehicle search system, comprising:

a display device located within a parking facility and configured to display a time-varying code; and

at least one electronic processor operatively connected to a memory, wherein the at least one electronic processor is configured to, upon execution of the code by a user device, cause the system to:

record a device identifier of the user device,

direct the user device to a vehicle search interface, wherein the vehicle search interface includes a search form for receiving a vehicle search query, the vehicle search query including a vehicle identifier,

in response to the vehicle search query, present at least one search result via the vehicle search interface.

12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the time-varying code is at least one of a bar code, QR code, a RSA code, a token, or a one-time password.

The system of claim 11 , wherein the device identifier is at least one of a Device ID of the user device, an Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) of the user device, a Google Advertising ID (GAID) of the user device, an International Mobile Equipment (IMEI) number of the user device, an Electronic Serial Number (ESN) of the user device, an Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Cloud generated identifier of the user device, a media access control (MAC) address of the user device, an internet protocol (IP) address of the user device, a Unique Device Identifier (UDID) of the user device, or a universally unique identifier (UUID) of the user device.

14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the at least one electronic processor is further configured to, upon execution of the code by the user device, cause the system to:

in response to the vehicle search query, increment a query counter corresponding to the user device; and

in response to a determination that the query counter exceeds a threshold, generate an alert notification to an operator of the facility or another authorized party.

15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the at least one electronic processor is further configured to, upon execution of the code by the user device, cause the system to:

in response to the vehicle search query, determine whether another user device with a different device identifier has previously performed a search using the vehicle identifier; and

in response to a determination that the other user device has previously performed the search, generate an alert notification to an operator of the facility or another authorized party.

16 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the time-varying code is based on a location within the facility.

17 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the vehicle identifier is at least one of a vehicle make, a vehicle model, a license plate region, a license plate character or string of characters, a time of entry, a facility level, a parking orientation, or a ticket number.

18 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the display device is one of a plurality of display devices and wherein the time-varying code is unique to the display device.

19 . The system of claim 11 , wherein directing the user device to the vehicle search interface includes causing the user device to launch a web browser interface.

20 . The system of claim 11 , wherein directing the user device to the vehicle search interface includes causing the user device to launch a vehicle search application.
