SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF MANAGING GAMING ELEMENTS OF AN RFID-ENABLED TABLE GAME SYSTEM
Systems, methods and computer program products associated with wirelessly (e.g., RF) readable playing cards and/or gaming chips are disclosed.
1 . A management system for managing RFID-enabled gaming elements at a table system for facilitating a wagering game, the management system including a processor for performing a method, the method comprising:
obtaining, via an RFID reader element of the table system, a first unique identifier of a first gaming element present at the table system, wherein the first unique identifiers is obtained from the first gaming element at least in part by wireless communication with the first gaming element;
analyzing, by the processor and using at least one predetermined criterion, whether the first unique identifier associated with the first gaming element is valid by comparing the first unique identifier to a first set of identifiers previously stored and accessible to the management system; and
identifying the first gaming element as being invalid based on a result of the analyzing.
2 . The management system of claim 1 , wherein analyzing comprises:
determining whether the first unique identifier has previously been obtained from a second gaming element and, if it has, determining that one of the first gaming element and the second gaming element is invalid based on a requirement that the first unique identifier can only be validly associated with a single gaming element.
3 . The management system of claim 1 , wherein the gaming element is a casino chip used for wagering on the wagering game.
4 . The management system of claim 1 , wherein the first gaming element is one of a plurality of gaming elements placed in a stacked configuration on a surface of the table system.
5 . The management system of claim 1 , the method further comprising:
outputting an indication that the first unique identifier is invalid if the first unique identifier is determined to be invalid.
6 . The management system of claim 5 , wherein outputting the indication that the first unique identifier is invalid comprises outputting an alert to casino personnel of a casino establishment at which the table system is located.
7 . The management system of claim 6 , wherein the alert comprises at least one of a visible, audible, or electronic message.
8 . The management system of claim 1 , the method further comprising:
determining a general location of at least one of the first gaming element and the second gaming element.
9 . The management system of claim 8 , wherein determining the general location comprises identifying an RFID reader element that is in closest proximity to the at least one gaming element.
10 . The management system of claim 8 , the method further comprising:
outputting an indication of the general location of at least one of the first gaming element and the second gaming element.
11 . The management system of claim 10 , wherein outputting an indication of the general location comprises outputting at least one: of a graphical map of the general location, a layout of a building, an identification of a doorway or area of the general location, and a video or picture of the general location.
12 . The management system of claim 1 , wherein a result of the analyzing is a determination of an inability to validate the first unique identifier.
13 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions for controlling a processor of a management system for managing RFID-enabled gaming elements at a table system for facilitating a wagering game, the instructions when executed by the processor causing the processor of the management system to:
obtain, via an RFID reader element of the table system, a first unique identifier of a first gaming element present at the table system, wherein the first unique identifiers is obtained from the first gaming element at least in part by wireless communication with the first gaming element;
analyze, by the processor and using at least one predetermined criterion, whether the first unique identifier associated with the first gaming element is valid by comparing the first unique identifier to a first set of identifiers previously stored and accessible to the management system; and
identify the first gaming element as being invalid based on a result of the analyzing.
14 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the instructions when executed by the processor causing the processor of the management system to analyze comprise instructions causing the processor of the management system to:
determine whether the first unique identifier has previously been obtained from a second gaming element and, if it has, determining that one of the first gaming element and the second gaming element is invalid based on a requirement that the first unique identifier can only be validly associated with a single gaming element.
15 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the gaming element is a casino chip used for wagering on the wagering game.
16 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the first gaming element is one of a plurality of gaming elements placed in a stacked configuration on a surface of the table system.
17 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , the instructions when executed by the processor further causing the processor of the management system to:
output an indication that the first unique identifier is invalid if the first unique identifier is determined to be invalid.
18 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 17 , wherein outputting the indication that the first unique identifier is invalid comprises outputting an alert to casino personnel of a casino establishment at which the table system is located.
19 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 18 , wherein the alert comprises at least one of a visible, audible, or electronic message.
20 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , the instructions when executed by the processor further causing the processor of the management system to:
determine a general location of at least one of the first gaming element and the second gaming element.
21 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 20 , wherein determining the general location comprises identifying an RFID reader element that is in closest proximity to the at least one gaming element.
22 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 20 , the instructions when executed by the processor further causing the processor of the management system to:
outputting an indication of the general location of at least one of the first gaming element and the second gaming element.
23 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 22 , wherein outputting an indication of the general location comprises outputting at least one: of a graphical map of the general location, a layout of a building, an identification of a doorway or area of the general location, and a video or picture of the general location.
24 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 13 , wherein a result of the analyzing is a determination of an inability to validate the first unique identifier.
