DUAL-HANDLED, WEIGHTED EXERCISE DEVICE
An exercise device has a generally spheroidal body having a top, a bottom, a first side, a second side, a front, and a rear, a first handle extending outwardly from the first side, the first handle comprising a grip spaced from the body; and a second handle extending outwardly from the second side, the second handle comprising a grip spaced from the body, wherein the first and second handles extend upwardly towards the top of said body at an angle relative to a horizontal plane through the body. Exercise devices of different masses may have different sized bodies, but have approximately the same total width from handle to handle.

20 . An exercise device comprising:
a generally spheroidal body having a top, a bottom, a first side, a second side opposite the first side, a front, and a rear;
a first handle extending outwardly from and being connected to said first side, said first handle comprising a first portion connected to and extending from said first side of said body and a grip spaced from said body; and
a second handle extending outwardly from and being connected to said second side, said second handle comprising a first portion connected to and extending from said second side of said body and a grip spaced from said body;
wherein said first and second handles are spaced apart at opposing sides of said body and said first portions of each of said first and second handles extend from said body in a common first horizontal plane located at a first elevation between the top and the bottom of said body, with said grip of said first handle and said grip of said second handle each being disposed in a second horizontal plane offset towards said top of said body from said first horizontal plane.
21 . The exercise device in accordance with claim 20 , wherein said body has a central plane midway between said top and bottom and said second horizontal plane is offset towards said top of said body from said central plane.
22 . The exercise device in accordance with claim 20 , wherein said first and second handles extend from said first portion to said grip at an angle offset from said first horizontal plane.
23 . The exercise device in accordance with claim 20 , wherein a central portion of said bottom of said body is generally planar.
24 . The exercise device in accordance with claim 23 , wherein said planar portion is circular in shape and has a diameter F and said body has a diameter D between said sides, wherein a ratio of the F/D is about 1:1.5-1:2.5.
25 . The exercise device in accordance with claim 24 , wherein said ratio F.D is about 1:2.
26 . The exercise device in accordance with claim 20 , wherein the body has a diameter D between said sides and a height H from said top to said bottom, wherein a ratio of the diameter D to the height H (D/H) is preferably between 1.5:1 and 2.5:1.
27 . The exercise device in accordance with claim 26 , wherein said ratio is about 2:1.
28 . The exercise device in accordance with claim 20 , wherein said body and said first and second handles are cast as a single element.
29 . The exercise device in accordance with claim 20 , wherein said grip of said first handle and said grip of said second handle are each “U” shaped.
30 . A plurality of exercise devices comprising:
a first exercise device having a first mass, comprising:
a generally spheroidal first body having a top, a bottom, a first side, a second side opposite the first side, a front, and a rear, said first body having a first size;
a first handle extending outwardly from and being connected to said first side of said first body, said first handle comprising a first portion connected to and extending from said first side of said first body and a grip spaced from said first body; and
a second handle extending outwardly from and being connected to said second side of said first body, said second handle comprising a first portion connected to and extending from said second side of said first body and a grip spaced from said first body;
wherein said first and second handles of said first exercise device are spaced apart at opposing sides of said first body and said first portions of each of said first and second handles extends from said first body in a common first horizontal plane located at a first elevation between the top and the bottom of said first body, with said grip of said first handle and said grip of said second handle each being disposed in a second horizontal plane offset towards said top of said first body from said first horizontal plane.
a second exercise device having a second mass which differs from said first mass, comprising:
a generally spheroidal second body having a top, a bottom, a first side, a second side opposite the first side, a front, and a rear, said second body having a second size which differs from said first size of said first body;
a first handle extending outwardly from and being connected to said first side of said second body, said first handle comprising a first portion connected to and extending from said first side of said second body and a grip spaced from said second body; and
a second handle extending outwardly from and being connected to said second side of said second body, said second handle comprising a first portion connected to and extending from said second side of said second body and a grip spaced from said second body;
wherein said first and second handles of said first exercise device are spaced apart at opposing sides of said second body and said first portions of each of said first and second handles extends from said second body in a common third horizontal plane located at a third elevation between the top and the bottom of said second body, with said grip of said first handle and said grip of said second handle each being disposed in a fourth horizontal plane offset towards said top of said second body from said third horizontal plane;
wherein a first distance between said grips of said first and second handles of said first exercise device is generally the same a second distance between said grips of said first and second handles of said second exercise device.
31 . The plurality of exercise devices in accordance with claim 30 , wherein said first mass is greater than said second mass, said first body has a first width and said second body has a second width which is less than said first width.
32 . The plurality of exercise devices in accordance with claim 30 , wherein a central portion of said bottom of said first body is generally planar and a central portion of said bottom of said second body is generally planar.
33 . The plurality of exercise devices in accordance with claim 32 , wherein first body and said second body each have a generally planar portion at said bottom, said generally planar portion having a diameter F and wherein each body has a diameter D between said sides, wherein a ratio of the F/D is about 1:1.5-1:2.5.
17 . The plurality of exercise devices in accordance with claim 33 , wherein said ratio F/D is about 1:2.
34 . The plurality of exercise devices in accordance with claim 30 , wherein said first body has a central plane midway between said top and bottom and said second horizontal plane is offset towards said top of said first body from said central plane and wherein said second body has a central plane midway between said top and bottom and said fourth horizontal plane is offset towards said top of said second body from said central plane.
35 . The plurality of exercise devices in accordance with claim 30 , wherein said first body and said second body each have a diameter D between said sides and a height H from said top to said bottom, wherein a ratio of the diameter D to the height H (D/H) is preferably between 1.5:1 and 2.5:1.
36 . The plurality of exercise devices in accordance with claim 35 , wherein said ratio is about 2:1.
37 . An exercise device comprising:
a generally spheroidal body having a top, a bottom, a first side, a second side opposite the first side, a front, and a rear, a first distance between said top and bottom being less than a second distance between said first side and said second side, said body having a center of mass in a first plane between said top and said bottom;
a first handle extending outwardly from and being connected to said first side and having a grip spaced from said body; and
a second handle extending outwardly from and being connected to said second side and having a grip spaced from said body;
wherein said first and second handles are spaced apart at opposing sides of said body and said grips of said first and second handles are located in a second plane which is offset towards said top of said body from said first plane containing said center of mass.
38 . The exercise device in accordance with claim 37 , wherein said first and second handles extend outwardly from said first and second sides of said body in a third plane, said third plane being positioned between said first plane and said second plane.
