HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE HEATLAMP

1 . A height adjustable lamp assembly comprising:

a frame including a top portion and a bottom portion;

a rod extending vertically between the top portion and the bottom portion;

a shaft positioned along the rod;

a reel disposed along the shaft; and

an electrical cord wound around the reel, the electrical cord configured to engage with a lamp.

2 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 1 , wherein the bottom portion of the frame defines a cord aperture, and wherein a lower end of the electrical cord extends through the cord aperture.

3 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 1 , wherein the frame includes an arm extending between the top portion and the bottom portion.

4 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 3 , wherein the arm includes a first portion and a second portion oriented at an angle relative to the first portion.

5 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 4 , wherein the first portion is oriented substantially vertically.

6 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 5 , wherein the first portion is coupled to the bottom portion and the second portion is coupled to the top portion.

7 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 6 , wherein the second portion is integrally formed with the top portion.

8 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 3 , further comprising a slip ring disposed along the arm, wherein the slip ring is electrically coupled to the reel.

9 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a reel stop controllable to selectively engage with the reel to selectively lock the reel in a position.

10 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 9 , wherein the reel stop is electrically operated.

11 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 10 , wherein the reel stop includes a solenoid.

12 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 10 , wherein the reel stop includes a magnetic stop.

13 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 1 , further comprising an electrically operated cord winder configured to guide the electrical cord onto the reel.

14 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a cord stop positioned along the electrical cord, the cord stop configured to prevent the electrical cord from retracting more than a predetermined amount.

15 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 1 , wherein the reel includes a spring disposed therein, and wherein, as the lamp is manually lifted by an operator, the spring causes the reel to rotate to wind up the electrical cord.

16 . A height adjustable lamp assembly comprising:

a frame including:

a top portion configured to couple to a mounting location;

a bottom portion defining a cord aperture; and

an arm coupling the top portion to the bottom portion, the arm extending from an edge of the top portion and terminating at the bottom portion;

a reel rotationally supported by the frame; and

an electrical cord wound around the reel, a lower end of the electrical cord extending through the cord aperture, the electrical cord configured to engage with a lamp.

17 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 16 , wherein the frame includes a rod extending vertically between the top portion and the bottom portion.

18 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 17 , further comprising a shaft positioned along the rod, wherein the reel is disposed along the shaft.

19 . The height adjustable lamp assembly of claim 16 , wherein the arm includes a first portion and a second portion oriented at an angle relative to the first portion.

20 . A height adjustable lamp assembly comprising:

a frame;

a reel rotationally supported by the frame;

an electrical cord wound around the reel, a lower end of the electrical cord extending through a cord aperture in a bottom of the frame;

a lamp coupled to the lower end of the electrical cord; and

a canopy surrounding the frame and the reel.
