Abstract

One or more media management threshold values associated with the memory device are maintained. The one or more media management threshold values include a bit error count per page threshold and/or a valley width threshold value. A number of program erase cycles associated with the memory device is identified. Responsive to determining that the number of program erase cycles satisfies a criterion, one or more adjusted media management threshold values are generated by decreasing the one or more media management threshold values as the number of program erase cycles increases. A data state metric for one or more wordlines of the memory device is determined. Responsive to determining that the data state metric exceeds a corresponding media management threshold value of the one or more adjusted media management threshold values, a media management operation is performed with respect to a block comprising the one or more wordlines.
