Abstract

A method for dyeing a fabric has the steps of adding a fabric to a jet dyeing machine containing water, adding a scouring agent to the jet dyeing machine, heating the water and cooling the water, removing the water from the jet dyeing machine and refilling with water, agitating the fabric in the jet dyeing machine, adding a dye, a leveling agent, and a dispersing agent to the jet dyeing machine, heating the refilled water and cooling the refilled water, removing the refilled water from the jet dyeing machine and refilling with water, heating the refilled water to a certain temperature, agitating the fabric in the jet dyeing machine, adding a surfactant to the jet dyeing machine, maintaining the refilled water at the certain temperature and cooling the refilled water, removing the refilled water from the jet dyeing machine and removing the fabric from the jet dyeing machine.

Claims (68)

1 . A method for dyeing a fabric having ultraviolet radiation protection and antimicrobial protection comprising the steps of:

adding a fabric to a jet dyeing machine containing water;

adding a scouring agent to the jet dyeing machine;

heating the water and cooling the water;

removing the water from the jet dyeing machine and refilling with water for a first time;

agitating the fabric in the jet dyeing machine;

adding a dye, a leveling agent, and a dispersing agent to the jet dyeing machine;

heating the first refilled water and cooling the first refilled water;

removing the first refilled water from the jet dyeing machine and refilling with water for a second time;

heating the second refilled water to a certain temperature;

agitating the fabric in the jet dyeing machine;

adding a surfactant to the jet dyeing machine;

maintaining the second refilled water at the certain temperature and cooling the second refilled water;

removing the second refilled water from the jet dyeing machine; and

removing the fabric from the jet dyeing machine.

2 . The method of claim 1 wherein the fabric comprises a 1 kg piece of fabric.

3 . The method of claim 1 wherein the leveling agent comprises five grams.

4 . The method of claim 1 wherein the dispersing agent comprises thirty grams.

5 . The method of claim 1 wherein the dye comprises ten grams.

6 . The method of claim 1 wherein the fabric comprises a 1 kg piece of fabric and the dye comprises ten grams.

7 . The method of claim 1 wherein the leveling agent comprises five grams and the dye comprises ten grams.

8 . A method for dyeing a synthetic fabric having ultraviolet radiation protection and antimicrobial protection comprising the steps of:

adding the synthetic fabric to a jet dyeing machine containing water; adding a scouring agent to the jet dyeing machine;

heating the water to a certain temperature at a certain rate;

maintaining the water at the certain temperature for a period of time;

cooling the water after the period of time to a certain temperature at a certain rate;

removing the water from the jet dyeing machine and refilling with water for a first time;

agitating the synthetic fabric in the jet dyeing machine;

adding a dye, a leveling agent, and a dispersing agent to the jet dyeing machine while agitating the synthetic fabric;

heating the first refilled water to a certain temperature at a certain rate;

maintaining the first refilled water at the certain temperature for a period of time;

cooling the first refilled water after the period of time to a certain temperature at a certain rate;

removing the first refilled water from the jet dyeing machine and refilling with water for a second time;

heating the second refilled water to a certain temperature at a certain rate;

agitating the synthetic fabric in the jet dyeing machine;

adding a surfactant to the jet dyeing machine while agitating the synthetic fabric;

maintaining the second refilled water at the certain temperature for a period of time;

cooling the second refilled water after the period of time to a certain temperature at a certain rate;

removing the second refilled water from the jet dyeing machine; and

removing the synthetic fabric from the jet dyeing machine.

9 . The method of claim 8 wherein the synthetic fabric comprises a 1 kg piece of fabric.

10 . The method of claim 8 wherein the synthetic fabric is a sustainable product.

11 . The method of claim 8 wherein the leveling agent comprises five grams.

12 . The method of claim 8 wherein the dispersing agent comprises thirty grams.

13 . The method of claim 8 wherein the surfactant comprises thirty grams.

14 . The method of claim 8 wherein the dye comprises ten grams and the leveling agent comprises five grams.

15 . The method of claim 8 wherein the scouring agent comprises ten grams.

16 . A method of incorporating a dye into a fabric having ultraviolet radiation protection and antimicrobial protection comprising the steps of:

providing a fabric having a quantity of ZnO incorporated into the fabric;

adding the fabric to a jet dyeing machine containing water;

adding a scouring agent to the jet dyeing machine;

heating the water to a temperature of 60° C. at a rate of 2.5° C. per minute, holding the temperature of the water at 60° C. for ten minutes, and cooling the water at a rate of 2.5° C. per minute to a temperature of 35° C.;

removing the water from the jet dyeing machine and refilling with water for a first time;

agitating the fabric in the jet dyeing machine;

adding a dye, a leveling agent, and a dispersing agent to the jet dyeing machine;

heating the first refilled water to a temperature of 130° C. at a rate of 1.6° C. per minute, holding the temperature of the first refilled water at the temperature of 130° C. for thirty minutes, and cooling the first refilled water at a rate of 2.5° C. per minute to a temperature of 80° C.;

removing the first refilled water from the jet dyeing machine and refilling with water for a second time;

heating the second refilled water to a temperature of 60° C. at rate of 2.5° C. per minute;

agitating the fabric in the jet dyeing machine;

adding a surfactant to the jet dyeing machine;

maintaining the temperature of the second refilled water at 60° C. for ten minutes;

cooling the second refilled water at a rate of 2.5° C. per minute to a temperature of 35° C.;

removing the second refilled water from the jet dyeing machine; and

removing the fabric from the jet dyeing machine.

17 . The method of claim 16 further comprising the step of adding 10 liters of water to the jet dyeing machine prior to the step of adding the fabric to the jet dyeing machine containing water.

18 . The method of claim 16 wherein the jet dyeing machine is refilled with 10 liters of water when the jet dyeing machine is refilled with water for the first time.

19 . The method of claim 16 wherein the jet dyeing machine is refilled with 10 liters of water when the jet dyeing machine is refilled with water for the second time.
