STANDALONE NON-PUBLIC NETWORK ACCESS
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine whether a standalone non-public network (SNPN), to which the UE is not subscribed, permits access to subscribers of a network to which the UE is subscribed. The UE may register with the SNPN based at least in part on a determination that the SNPN permits access to subscribers of the network to which the UE is subscribed. Numerous other aspects are provided.
1 . A user equipment (UE) for wireless communication, comprising:
one or more memories; and
one or more processors, coupled to the one or more memories, wherein the one or more processors are configured to:
receive, from a network node, a broadcast communication indicating a plurality of standalone non-public networks (SNPNs), wherein the broadcast communication indicates, for each SNPN of the plurality of SNPNs, whether a SNPN permits access to subscribers of a network different from that of the SNPN;
select, from the plurality of SNPNs, a first SNPN based at least in part on the first SNPN permitting access subscribers of the network different from the first SNPN; and
register with the SNPN using subscription information of the network to which the UE is subscribed.
2 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:
receive a communication that includes an SNPN identifier of the SNPN.
3 . The UE of claim 2 , wherein the SNPN identifier comprises a public land mobile network (PLMN) identifier and a network identifier.
4 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the broadcast communication indicates a plurality of SNPN identifiers corresponding to the plurality of SNPNs.
5 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:
compare an SNPN identifier of an SNPN to a set of SNPN identifiers, the set of SNPN identifiers comprising subscription permanent identifiers (SUPIs) corresponding to the plurality of SNPNs, wherein the set of SNPN identifiers is based at least in part on the broadcast communication
6 . The UE of claim 5 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:
determine, based at least in part on the comparison, that the SNPN permits access from UEs subscribed to a network different from the SNPN.
7 . The UE of claim 1 , where the one or more processors, configured to select the SNPN are further configured to:
select the SNPN based at least in part on the SNPN having a highest priority among the plurality of SNPNs
8 . The UE of claim 1 , wherein the broadcast communication indicates one or more network identifiers corresponding to one or more networks.
9 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein the broadcast communication indicates whether a network, of the one or more networks, is supported per SNPN of the plurality of SNPNs.
10 . The UE of claim 9 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:
compare an identifier of the network to the one or more network identifiers.
11 . The UE of claim 10 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to:
select the SNPN based at least in part on the comparison.
12 . A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
receiving, from a network node, a broadcast communication indicating a plurality of standalone non-public networks (SNPNs), wherein the broadcast communication indicates, for each SNPN of the plurality of SNPNs, whether a SNPN permits access to subscribers of a network different from that of the SNPN;
selecting, from the plurality of SNPNs, a first SNPN based at least in part on the first SNPN permitting access subscribers of the network different from the first SNPN; and
registering with the SNPN using subscription information of the network to which the UE is subscribed.
13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising:
receiving a communication that includes an SNPN identifier of the SNPN.
14 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the broadcast communication indicates a plurality of SNPN identifiers corresponding to the plurality of SNPNs.
15 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising:
comparing an SNPN identifier of an SNPN to a set of SNPN identifiers, the set of SNPN identifiers comprising subscription permanent identifiers (SUPIs) corresponding to the plurality of SNPNs, wherein the set of SNPN identifiers is based at least in part on the broadcast communication
16 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising:
determining, based at least in part on the comparing, that the SNPN permits access from UEs subscribed to a network different from the SNPN.
17 . The method of claim 12 , wherein selecting the SNPN further comprises:
selecting the SNPN based at least in part on the SNPN having a highest priority among the plurality of SNPNs.
18 . The UE of claim 12 , wherein the broadcast communication indicates one or more network identifiers corresponding to one or more networks.
19 . The UE of claim 18 , wherein the broadcast communication indicates whether a network, of the one or more networks, is supported per SNPN of the plurality of SNPNs.
20 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a set of instructions for wireless communication, the set of instructions comprising:
one or more instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a user equipment (UE), cause the UE to:
receive, from a network node, a broadcast communication indicating a plurality of standalone non-public networks (SNPNs), wherein the broadcast communication indicates, for each SNPN of the plurality of SNPNs, whether a SNPN permits access to subscribers of a network different from that of the SNPN;
select, from the plurality of SNPNs, a first SNPN based at least in part on the first SNPN permitting access subscribers of the network different from the first SNPN; and
register with the SNPN using subscription information of the network to which the UE is subscribed.
