Abstract

A method for a remote employment management system is described. The method includes logging an employee at a remote job location into and out of the remote employment management system over a predetermined period of time. The method also includes determining a jurisdiction, sales tax, and/or union benefits according to the remote job location and a remote job position of the employee at the remote job location. The method further includes generating a paycheck for the employee according to the jurisdiction, sales tax, and/or the union benefits determined according to the remote job location and the remote job position of the employee after the predetermined period of time.

Claims (61)

1 .- 20 . (canceled)

21 . A method for managing employee break time within a remote employment management system, the method comprising:

providing, to a mobile device of a first user at an authorized remote job location, a user interface including a sign-out user interface element and a break time user interface element;

determining whether approval for a break for the first user has been obtained from a second user;

based on the determining that the approval has not been obtained from the second user, rendering the break time user interface element in a deactivated state that removes interaction functionality of the break time user interface element on the user interface;

based on the determining that the approval has been subsequently obtained from the second user:

rendering the break time user interface element on the user interface in an activated state that allows interaction with the break time user interface element by the first user on the user interface;

detecting first input by the first user via the break time user interface element in the activated state on the user interface;

based on the detected first input, generating a record including a start time corresponding to a break period;

obtaining second input by the first user via the break time user interface element, wherein the second input is indicative of an end of the break period; and

based on the obtained second input, updating the record with an end time corresponding to the break period.

22 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:

based on the detected first input, deactivating the sign-out user interface element on the user interface, wherein the deactivating the sign-out user interface element removes interaction functionality of the sign-out user interface element by the first user on the user interface for a duration of the break period.

23 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising:

based on the deactivating the sign-out user interface element, rendering the sign-out user interface element as grayed out on the user interface.

24 . The method of claim 22 , further comprising:

based at least partially on the obtained second input, reactivating the sign-out user interface element on the user interface, wherein the reactivating the sign-out user interface element allows interaction with the sign-out user interface element by the first user on the user interface.

25 . The method of claim 24 , further comprising:

obtaining third input by the first user relative to the sign-out user interface element on the user interface; and

based at least partially on the obtained third input, signing the first user out of the remote employee management system.

26 . The method of claim 24 , wherein the reactivating the sign-out user interface element is further based on completion of a post-event questionnaire, displayed on the user interface, the post-event questionnaire confirming whether the first user took all required breaks including the break.

27 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:

obtaining selection of the sign-out user interface element by the first user via the user interface; and

based on the obtained selection of the sign-out user interface element, generating a pay summary module for the user interface, the pay summary module estimating pay for the first user based on A) a pay rate for the first user, B) a sign-in time of the first user to the remote employee management system, and C) a sign-out time of the first user to the remote employee management system corresponding to a time of the selection of the sign-out user interface element by the first user,

wherein the pay for the first user excludes the break period.

28 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the providing the user interface to the mobile device is based on logging of the first user into the remote employment management system.

29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the logging of the first user into the remote employment management system is based on verifying that one or more geo-locations of the first user, obtained via one or more location detection components of the mobile device, are in a predetermined geo-fenced clock-in/clock-out verification area of the authorized remote job location.

30 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the logging of the first user into the remote employment management system is based on verifying that one or more geo-locations of the first user are within the authorized remote job location using one or more photographs and/or one or more videos captured by a camera of the mobile device.

31 . The method of claim 30 , wherein the authorized remote job location is a secondary location outside of a predetermined geo-fenced clock-in/clock-out verification area of a primary location assigned to the first user.

32 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:

generating a paycheck for the first user based on A) the authorized remote job location, B) an employee position of the first user, and C) an estimated amount of hours worked by the first user, wherein the estimated amount of hours worked by the first user excludes the break period.

33 . A computer-readable storage medium storing instructions for managing employee break time within a remote employment management system, wherein the instructions, when executed by a computing system, cause the computing system to:

provide, to a mobile device of a first user at an authorized remote job location, a user interface including a sign-out user interface element and a break time user interface element;

determine that approval for a break for the first user has been obtained from a second user;

based on the determining that the approval has been obtained from the second user:

render the break time user interface element on the user interface in an activated state that allows interaction with the break time user interface element by the first user on the user interface;

detect first input by the first user via the break time user interface element in the activated state on the user interface;

based on the detected first input, generate a record including a start time corresponding to a break period;

obtain second input by the first user via the break time user interface element, wherein the second input is indicative of an end of the break period; and

based on the obtained second input, update the record with an end time corresponding to the break period.

34 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 33 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the computing system, further cause the computing system to:

based on the detected first input, deactivating the sign-out user interface element on the user interface, wherein the deactivating the sign-out user interface element removes interaction functionality of the sign-out user interface element by the first user on the user interface for a duration of the break period.

35 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 34 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the computing system, further cause the computing system to:

based on the deactivating the sign-out user interface element, rendering the sign-out user interface element as grayed out on the user interface.

36 . The computer-readable storage medium of claim 34 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the computing system, further cause the computing system to:

based at least partially on the obtained second input, reactivating the sign-out user interface element on the user interface, wherein the reactivating the sign-out user interface element allows interaction with the sign-out user interface element by the first user on the user interface.

37 . A computing system for managing employee break time within a remote employment management system, the computing system comprising:

one or more processors; and

one or more memories storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing system to:

provide, to a mobile device of a first user at an authorized remote job location, a user interface including a sign-out user interface element and a break time user interface element;

determine whether approval for a break for the first user has been obtained from a second user;

when the approval has not been obtained from the second user, render the break time user interface element in a deactivated state that removes interaction functionality of the break time user interface element on the user interface;

when the approval has been obtained from the second user:

render the break time user interface element on the user interface in an activated state that allows interaction with the break time user interface element by the first user on the user interface;

detect first input by the first user via the break time user interface element in the activated state on the user interface;

based on the detected first input, generate a record including a start time corresponding to a break period;

obtain second input by the first user via the break time user interface element, wherein the second input is indicative of an end of the break period; and

based on the obtained second input, update the record with an end time corresponding to the break period.

38 . The computing system of claim 37 , wherein the providing the user interface to the mobile device is based on logging of the first user into the remote employment management system.

39 . The computing system of claim 38 , wherein the logging of the first user into the remote employment management system is based on verifying that one or more geo-locations of the first user, obtained via one or more location detection components of the mobile device, are in a predetermined geo-fenced clock-in/clock-out verification area of the authorized remote job location.

40 . The computing system of claim 38 , wherein the logging of the first user into the remote employment management system is based on verifying that one or more geo-locations of the first user are within the authorized remote job location using one or more photographs and/or one or more videos captured by a camera of the mobile device.
