Stackable riser configuration
View Patent ↗A riser section and cover is disclosed. The riser section has a smooth cylindrical sidewall surface, a removable anchor tab on the exterior surface and bosses and ribs on the inside of the sidewall. The riser sections are stackable. The cover has a channel end to removably connect to a riser section. The cover has stowable handles and posts extending from a bottom surface that define wells open at a top surface and which posts fit into the wells of another cover. A bracket is disclosed to releasably secure and position the cover with an attached riser section on a concrete form wall to hold the riser in place while concrete is poured into the form.
1. A riser and cover combination secured to a bottom wall of a concrete form said riser having a sidewall defining a passageway, said sidewall having an open upper end and a channel defining lower end;
a cover having a wall defining top and bottom surfaces and a channel end connected to said wall,
at least one post extending from said bottom surface and below the edge of the channel end;
said channel end mated with the upper end of said riser;
a bracket secured to a form wall;
said bracket having a flat top portion having at least one aperture defined therein;
said at least one post of said cover releasably received in said aperture defined by said flat top portion of said bracket.
2. A riser and cover combination as claimed in claim 1 wherein said cover includes two posts extending from said bottom surface; and
said bracket flat top portion includes two apertures, and each said post is disposed in one aperture of said flat top portion and releasably received in one of said apertures defined by said flat top surface of said bracket.
3. A riser and cover combination as claimed in claim 1 wherein said at least one aperture is defined by gripping webs that releasably grip said at least one post.
4. A riser and cover combination as claimed in claim 2 wherein each of said apertures in said flat top portion of said bracket are defined by gripping webs that releasably grip one of said posts.
5. A bracket to retain a riser section in place upon a wall of a concrete form, said bracket comprising:
a flat top portion,
said flat top portion including at least one aperture formed therein,
said flat top portion defining tapered sides about said aperture to define at least one gripping web;
two side walls diverging from said flat top portion;
a flange parallel to said flat top portion extending from each said sidewall,
each said flange adapted to be connected to a form wall.
6. A bracket as claimed in claim 5 wherein said bracket flat top portion includes two apertures,
said flat top portion defines tapered sides about each said aperture to define at least one gripping web at each said aperture.
7. A bracket as claimed in claim 5 wherein said flat top portion defines plural gripping webs at said at least one aperture.
8. A bracket as claimed in claim 6 wherein said flat top portion defines plural gripping webs at each said aperture.
9. A bracket as claimed in claim 5 wherein said flat top portion includes a sighting aperture between said apertures having gripping webs.
10. A bracket on a wall of a concrete form to retain a riser section in place on said form wall, said bracket comprising:
a flat top portion,
said flat top portion, spaced from said form wall, and including at least one aperture formed therein,
said flat top portion defining tapered sides about said aperture to define at least one gripping web;
two sidewalls diverging from said flat top portion, at least one of said sidewalls having a flange projecting therefrom secured to said form wall.
11. A bracket as claimed in claim 10 wherein said bracket flat top portion includes two apertures,
said flat top portion defines tapered sides about each said aperture to define at least one gripping web at each said aperture; and
wherein each said sidewall includes a flange projecting therefrom secured to said form wall.
12. A bracket as claimed in claim 10 wherein said flat top portion defines plural gripping webs at said at least one aperture.
13. A bracket as claimed in claim 11 wherein said flat top portion defines plural gripping webs at each said aperture.
14. A bracket as claimed in claim 11 wherein said flat top portion includes a sighting aperture between said apertures having gripping webs.
