Abstract

The present invention relates to novel human secreted proteins and isolated nucleic acids containing the coding regions of the genes encoding such proteins. Also provided are vectors, host cells, antibodies, and recombinant methods for producing human secreted proteins. The invention further relates to diagnostic and therapeutic methods useful for diagnosing and treating diseases, disorders, and/or conditions related to these novel human secreted proteins.

Claims (39)

1. An isolated antibody or fragment thereof that specifically binds to an isolated HTEEB42 polypeptide selected from the group consisting of:

(a) a polypeptide whose amino acid sequence consists of amino acid residues 1 to 298 of SEQ ID NO:76;

(b) a polypeptide whose amino acid sequence consists of amino acid residues 2 to 298 of SEQ ID NO:76;

(c) a polypeptide whose amino acid sequence consists of amino acid residues 23 to 298 of SEQ ID NO:76;

(d) a polypeptide whose amino acid sequence consists of the amino acid sequence of the full length HTEEB42 polypeptide encoded by the cDNA clone contained in ATCC Deposit No. 97922, which was deposited on Mar. 7, 1997;

(e) a polypeptide whose amino acid sequence consists of the amino acid sequence of the full length HTEEB42 polypeptide encoded by the cDNA clone contained in ATCC Deposit No 209070, which was deposited on May 22, 1997;

(f) a polypeptide whose amino acid sequence consists of the amino acid sequence of the full length HTEEB42 polypeptide, excluding the N-terminal methionine residue, encoded by the cDNA clone contained in ATCC Deposit No. 97922, which was deposited on Mar. 7, 1997;

(g) a polypeptide whose amino acid sequence consists of the amino acid sequence of the full length HTEEB42 polypeptide, excluding the N-terminal methionine residue, encoded by the cDNA clone contained in ATCC Deposit No 209070, which was deposited on May 22, 1997;

(h) a polypeptide whose amino acid sequence consists of the amino acid sequence of the mature HTEEB42 polypeptide encoded by the cDNA clone contained in ATCC Deposit No. 97922, which was deposited on Mar. 7, 1997;

(i) a polypeptide whose amino acid sequence consists of the amino acid sequence of the mature HTEEB42 polypeptide encoded by the cDNA clone contained in ATCC Deposit No 209070, which was deposited on May 22, 1997; and

(j) a polypeptide purified from a cell culture wherein said HTEEB42 polypeptide consists of amino acids 1 to 298 of SEQ ID NO:76 or a fragment thereof.

2. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds polypeptide (a).

3. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds polypeptide (b).

4. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds polypeptide (c).

5. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds polypeptide (d) or (e).

6. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds polypeptide (f) or (g).

7. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds polypeptide (h) or (i).

8. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 that specifically binds polypeptide (j).

9. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 wherein said antibody or fragment thereof is polyclonal.

10. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 wherein said antibody or fragment thereof is monoclonal.

11. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 wherein said antibody or fragment thereof is human.

12. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 which is selected from the group consisting of:

(a) a chimeric antibody or fragment thereof;

(b) a humanized antibody or fragment thereof;

(c) a human antibody or fragment thereof;

(d) a single chain antibody; and

(e) a Fab fragment.

13. The antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 which is labeled.

14. An isolated cell that produces the antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 .

15. A hybridoma that produces the antibody of claim 1 .

16. A method of detecting HTEEB42 polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 76 or fragment thereof in a biological sample comprising:

(a) contacting the biological sample with the antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 ; and

(b) detecting the HTEEB42 polypeptide in the biological sample.

17. A method of making an antibody or fragment thereof comprising:

(a) culturing the cell of claim 14 under conditions such that said antibody or fragment thereof is expressed; and

(b) recovering said antibody or fragment thereof.

18. A method of producing the antibody or fragment thereof of claim 1 comprising:

(a) immunizing an animal with a polypeptide consisting of amino acid residues 23 to 298 of SEQ ID NO:76 or an epitope bearing fragment thereof; and

(b) recovering said antibody.
