Abstract

A non-aqueous electrolyte battery comprising: a battery case containing aluminum; a positive electrode terminal attached to the battery case; and a negative electrode terminal attached to the battery case and insulated from the battery case, wherein the positive electrode terminal and the battery case are connected through a resistor having resistance of 1 Ω to 1 MΩ. Otherwise, A non-aqueous electrolyte battery comprising: a battery case containing iron; a negative electrode terminal attached to the battery case; and a positive electrode terminal attached to the battery case and insulated from the battery case, wherein the negative electrode terminal and the battery case are connected through a resistor having resistance of 1 Ω to 1 MΩ.

Claims (20)

1. A non-aqueous electrolyte battery comprising:

a battery case containing aluminum;

a positive electrode terminal attached to said battery case; and

a negative electrode terminal attached to said battery case and insulated therefrom,

wherein said positive electrode terminal and said battery case are connected through a resistance of 1 Ω to 1 MΩ.

2. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery according to claim 1 , wherein the value of the resistance ranges from 10 Ω to 1 MΩ.

3. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery according to claim 1 , wherein said non-aqueous electrolyte battery has a capacity greater than 5 Ah.

4. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery according to claim 2 , wherein said non-aqueous electrolyte battery has a capacity greater than 5 Ah.

5. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery according to claim 1 , wherein lithium cobalt oxide is employed as a positive electrode active material, and

wherein carbon is employed as a negative electrode active material.

6. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery according to claim 2 , wherein lithium cobalt oxide is employed as a positive electrode active material, and

wherein carbon is employed as a negative-electrode active material.

7. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery according to claim 3 , wherein lithium cobalt oxide is employed as a positive electrode active material, and

wherein carbon is employed as a negative electrode active material.

8. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery according to claim 4 , wherein lithium cobalt oxide is employed as a positive electrode active material, and

wherein carbon is employed as a negative electrode active material.

9. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery according to claim 1 , wherein said positive electrode terminal is fixed to said battery case through an insulator, and

said resistance is provided for by a film fixed to said insulator.

10. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery according to claim 8 , wherein said positive electrode terminal is fixed to said battery case through an insulator, and

said resistance is provided for by a film fixed to said insulator.
