Abstract

The gaming system, gaming device, and gaming method disclosed herein provide an opportunity for a player to place a replay wager for a group or set of a plurality of plays of a wagering game. In one embodiment, the replay wager activates a replay feature which the player can use a designated number of times (such as one time) over the plurality of plays of the wagering game. The player's use of the replay feature causes the gaming system to redisplay the previous play of the wagering game, and provide any awards associated with the previous play of the wagering game. After the player uses the replay feature over each of the designated number (such as one) of the plurality of plays of the wagering game, the player cannot use the replay feature for any of the remaining plays of the plurality of plays of the wagering game.

Claims (41)

1. A gaming system comprising:

at least one display device;

at least one input device;

at least one processor; and

at least one memory device which stores a plurality of instructions, which when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to operate with the at least one display device and the at least one input device to:

(a) receive a replay wager from a player for a designated number of plays of a wagering game, the designated number being greater than one and the replay wager being distinct from any base wager received for any of the plays of the wagering game;

(b) activate a replay feature if the replay wager is received from the player; and

(c) for at least one play of the designated number of plays of the wagering game:

(i) receive a base wager from the player for said play of the wagering game,

(ii) display an outcome of said play of the wagering game,

(iii) provide the player any award associated with the outcome of said play of the wagering game

(iv) if the replay feature is activated for said play of the wagering game:

(A) enable the player to apply said replay for said play of the wagering game, and

(B) if the player applies the replay for said play of the wagering game:

(I) redisplay the outcome of said play of the wagering game,

(II) reprovide the player any award associated with the outcome of said play of the wagering game, and

(III) deactivate the replay feature, and

(v) if the replay feature is not activated for said play of the wagering game:

(A) not enable the player to apply any replay for said play of the wagering game, and

(B) not redisplay the outcome of said play of the wagering game.

2. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the designated number of plays of the wagering game is based on the replay wager received from the player.

3. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the replay wager is based on the designated number of plays of the wagering game.

4. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of instructions cause the at least one processor to receive a plurality of replay wagers from the player for the designated number of plays of the wagering game.

5. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of instructions cause the at least one processor to receive a designated base wager from the player for at least one of the designated number of plays of the wagering game and receive a different base wager from the player for a different one of the designated number of plays of the wagering game.

6. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of instructions cause the at least one processor to activate a plurality of replay features if the replay wager is received from the player.

7. The gaming system of claim 6 , wherein the plurality of instructions cause the at least one processor to, if a plurality of replay features are activated for said play of the wagering game, enable the player to apply one or more of said replays for said play of the wagering game.

8. The gaming system of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of instructions cause the at least one processor to, if the player applies one or more of said replays for said play of the wagering game, for each replay applied by the player:

(a) redisplay the outcome of said play of the wagering game,

(b) reprovide the player any award associated with the outcome of said play of the wagering game, and

(c) deactivate the replay feature.

9. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of instructions cause the at least one processor to, if the replay feature is activated after displaying the outcome for each of the designated number of plays of the wagering game:

(a) enable the player to apply said replay for any one of the designated number of plays of the wagering game, and

(b) if the player applies said replay for said play of the wagering game:

(i) redisplay the outcome of said play of the wagering game,

(ii) reprovide the player any award associated with the outcome of said play of the wagering game, and

(iii) deactivate the replay feature.

10. The gaming system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of instructions cause the at least one processor to, if the replay feature is activated after displaying the outcome for each of the designated number of plays of the wagering game:

(a) automatically apply the replay for one of the designated number of plays of the wagering game,

(b) redisplay the outcome of said play of the wagering game,

(c) reprovide the player any award associated with the outcome of said play of the wagering game, and

(d) deactivate the replay feature.
