Exemplary systems and methods relating to washboxes are described.
1. A method for reconfiguring an adjustable washbox, comprising:
receiving a parameter change relating to an operating environment that includes the adjustable washbox; and,
automatically reconfiguring a width dimension of a portion of a tortuous media pathway of the adjustable washbox to handle the parameter change, wherein media moves in a counter-current direction relative to water through said portion of said tortuous media pathway.
2. The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the receiving comprises detecting a change in a rate at which the media is delivered to the adjustable washbox.
3. The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the receiving comprises receiving an indication of a change in a rate at which compressed air is introduced into a vessel associated with the adjustable washbox.
4. The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the automatically reconfiguring comprises one of: making the width dimension more constrictive or making the width dimension less constrictive.
5. The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the automatically reconfiguring is performed after vibrating at least one component of the adjustable washbox to facilitate passage of the media through the adjustable washbox.
6. The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein the automatically reconfiguring comprises automatically adjusting multiple different parameters associated with the adjustable washbox.
7. The method as recited in claim 1 , wherein in an instance where the received parameter change is indicative of media blockage in the tortuous media pathway, vibrating at least a portion of the adjustable washbox and in an instance where the media blockage persists after the vibrating, the automatically reconfiguring comprises automatically enlarging the width dimension of the tortuous media pathway.
